I think she is an awkward extrovert.
Well, I don't especially like introverted people either, but I still am one.

I'm not allowed to post the link I guess, but she said this in an interview-

None the less, says Lawrence, 'I spent a lot of time alone. My mum used to worry about me,’ she says. 'She was prom queen, always socialising, and I never wanted to go to parties and that scared her.’
Even now, she says, 'I have to be alone to recharge. I’ve only ever been able to live by myself. I can be at a party for two hours and be the loudest person there but then I have to go be by myself.’
It's easy to mistake the loudest person at a party for an extrovert, but that is still the exact definition of an introvert.

She is obviously hard to type. I've followed her since Hunger Games and I admire her a lot. Here's what I think.

She doesn't strike me as a feeler at all. I would guess ESTP or ENTP, but there is some good argument for why she would be introverted. I can't really see what type she could be as an introvert though, maybe ISTP. She was very good at playing Katniss, who have been typed as an ISTP. She is very "no bullshit" and not the archetype of a girly girl, which goes well with ISTP.

If she is a feeler, I would think ENFP or ISFP.
I don't know why people argue so strongly for INFP, that feels totally wrong for me.
I don't think she has Fe as dom or aux, because that would make her more of a conformist.
I don't at all think she's ESFP. She is way too uninterested in looks to be Se dom.

So I think she's ENxP or ISxP.

I think Jennifer is a Type 3 enneagram. She's always talked about how driven she was to be successful in acting and how competitive she is. Thoughts?

    INTJ - The Scientists

Hmm...I sort of get extraverted vibes from her quotes (she was voted "most talkative" in high school)...maybe ESTJ?

    INFP - The Idealists

I would say she's an ENFP. I can see definite Ne in her interviews (the way she answers questions so out of the ordinary with ideas she just plucks out of her head). I would also possibly say I can see Fi more so than Fe. This is from my own understanding of Fe and Fi, so I could be wrong, but I don't think she uses Fe more than Fi.

Plus, I know ENFPs who are quite introvert in that they are the life and soul of the party, but when the party's finished, they then need to go off and recharge themselves for a while. I've read that ENFPs are the most introverted of the extraverted types (though I know you can't go on that alone), and I feel it makes sense when I think of all the functions that ENFPs use and her quotes that were posted above. I could be wrong, though :)

    ISFP or, less likely, ESFP.

Why does 'everyone' think that 'everyone' is an N? If I were to venture a guess based on all the people I've met in my life... I'd say less than 10% easily. However, I know that they've done studies on this and it's usually 1/4 N? 1/5? I suspect that is high and caused by S stereotypes used in tests (as these forums show, N types are more likely to be the test makers and givers). I suspect that it's less than what most studies show. I should do a post on this. Yes, I can see it now.

I'd suspect that Hollywood actors will be even more skewed to Se. Not because of stereotypes, per se, but because of the strengths of Se. So, humoring my hypothesis that there are a somewhat disproportionate number of Se types as actors, and that N types are probably not particularly more inclined than Si types (actually I rather suspect less inclined) - there actually may be LESS than a normal amount of N types in Hollywood as 'list' actors. I rather suspect this is true, but it's pure conjecture and speculation. Take it with a shaker of salt.

Even if the standard numbers hold up relatively well, you are still looking at no more than 1 in 4 actors being an N type. Again, I very much doubt this is true, but yeah. Yet, I bet if you polled "sooooommmmeeee people" on this forum, it would probably end up an N majority.

Creative and weird doesn't mean N ... intelligent and thoughtful doesn't mean N ... hell, imaginative doesn't even mean N. We can't use simple things like this as a signifier for N. By statistics alone they are probably not an N... by their vocation they are less likely N... by the fact that she shows no signs of being a freaking N, she is probably not an N.

The INFP hypothesis is basically arguing Virginia Woolf, Edgar Allen Poe, Tim Burton, David Lynch, Kurt Cobain ANNNDDDD Jennifer Lawrence... ... ... .. .

I'm not seeing it. ENFP either. Se until proven guilty, I say.

I really don't get how you guys think she's an introvert. She's said many times about how extroverted she is, and she was voted "Most Talkative" by her high school. I can see an introvert being talkative, but not excessively so. Furthermore, I really don't see how an introverted function can be her dom, and even if it is, it's not Fi. See: This interview

Honestly, I can see any ExxP type plausible, but I'm leaning towards ENTP of ENFP.

But I could be biased, cuz I sort of have a crush on her.

I see her as ESFP as well. Not really getting an Ne vibe from her. Her behavior seems to change based on her current situations, very here-and-now. And I don't see her as an Fe user as well - Fi leads towards self-awareness, and she seems very self-aware, which probably why she's perceived as awkward. And yeah, a lot of people are trying to type Jennifer based on her quirks matching their own, which is very inaccurate and unreliable. I could have the same quirks, interests, and intelligence level as an ISTJ, and that would not make me any less of an ENFP, nor would that make them any more of an ENFP - just because you're an "awkward turtle" like Jennifer, doesn't make you two the same type.

As far as Hollywood actors go, Se/Si seems to be more common, as well as Fe. There are Ne/Fi actors and actresses out there, but there really isn't an abundance of Intuitives, compared with Sensates. Plus, the best way of recognizing Fe/Fi in others (pointed out by DaveSuperPowers) is how they emote. Fe users have expressive faces, eyes, almost cartoonish in nature (think Robert Downey Jr., Neil Patrick Harris, Anne Hathaway) and Fi users eyes don't move as much as the lower half of their face, but emote with their bodies a bit more (Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, and dare I say, Jennifer Lawrence). Note this has to do with body language and facial expression, not quirks or idiosyncrasies.

And remember your Jung studies: everyone is both an introvert and an extrovert. Some have more of one than the other. An extrovert sometimes needs their down time, as much an introvert appreciates and needs the company of others from time to time.

tl;dr - I say Jennifer Lawrence is an ESFP.

Wait, I change my mind about her enneagram. She seems like a 7.

I don't see how people see Se in her; she's said countless times that she couldn't care less about aesthetics or clothes or any of that stuff. She's lived in the same apartment for years, since before she got famous, even though she could live in a mansion with all the money she has.

I thought she was a confirmed ENFJ? I could be wrong, though. I just took notice when she came up on my list.
