What are some fictional characters you know that you think are INFJ??

I know Amelie is for sure, as is discussed in another thread I started and most sources say she is.

Another that comes to mind is Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I know she is definitely an INFX at least. If there's any disney princess I'd relate myself to it would be her.

Jane Eyre's usually classed as INFJ, as is Lucy Snowe from Vilette (and Charlotte Bronte too). And Frodo Baggins.

This may not mean much to most folk, as I don't know how widely read Diana Wynne Jones's books are outside the UK, but I always identified with Sophie Hatter from Howl's Moving Castle - her character's quite different from the film version. Also Gair from DWJ's Power of Three. Gair certainly feels like an INFJ to me. There's a website dedicated to DWJ here: Diana Wynne Jones Official Website

How about Jesse and Celine from Before Sunrise/Before Sunset?

I was thinking about the possibility of typing fictional characters, and while it's possible sometimes, I think it's even harder than real people, as they're constructed, and hence their behaviour is not bound by the parameters of an actual personality type, so there can be very misleading signals.

Am I just stating stuff you guys worked out years ago?

Vash the Stampede from Trigun has INFJ written all over him. :) He's one of my idols.
-Outwardly friendly and caring
-His choice to not kill anyone based off of the strong moral value Rem instilled in him, which is definitely FJ.
-He also isn't a very rational person, just kind of winging the predicaments he gets himself into based off of his gut feeling, which he doesn't share with anyone. Instead, he'd rather deal with his problems by himself, which to me suggests Introverted Intuition.

From recent animations, there are a few...

Mio Akiyama from K-ON! perhaps?
Q-feuille from Kiddy Girl-and.
Kakeru Satsuki from 11eyes.

Yes! I am reading it at the momment and I was so fascinated by the ease by which I could just step into his psyche, even at his most deluded momments. I see can see how he is being tempted by his tertiary Ti and expanding his Ni-inheret paranoia. Also I can clearly see how his neglect of Fe is only driving him further into madness. In my opinion, the novel is a chilling warning for all INFJs that stray into the dark side.

Ashley Wilkes- Gone with the Wind.
I feel some kinship with Ashley Wilkes. Though not a person of any privilege such as he - I was born, raised and will die a Southerner. And while I love my native state and our peaceful ways I would never express sympathy for a wicked cause.

While some of my upbringing was idyllic - tying seins by the creek and catching crawdads - much of life on a farm was hard work. The world I lived in 30 years ago on top of a mountain is gone now of course. Just as Ashley's world disappeared. Perhaps he continued to live some of that life in his imagination after it was all gone.

Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird.

He's the only person/character I've ever considered a role model. I identify so well with his actions and thoughts that I have almost absorbed him as an adult part of my personality, or at least an equivalent/other name for it.

And I always really enjoy media where the bad guy is an INFJ, like Indigo Knight said with Sephiroth. I just connect well and sympathize, to the point where I want him to win the day and the hero to lose.

I also really enjoy most of Clint Eastwood's roles.

Edit:
Also, it's important to note that INFJ is the personality for a certain type of hero archetype, the one into which Jesus fits. Jesus fit a hero archetype of his time, and many modern heroes are seen to fit the Jesus archetype, so naturally we get a lot of INFJ/INFJ-like protagonists.

I can't decide if the archetype for Jesus is an INFJ or an ENFJ....

Wow... those are all good ones. Especially Aticus Finch. Perfect example.

One that comes to mind is Jerry from the movie The In-Laws (newer version). INFJ all the way!
