    Just in case anyone doesn't know. I have developed chronic diverticulitis, which is going to require surgery. It has significantly slowed my roll, and I have lost 60 pounds in the last few months. I am scheduled for surgery in about 10 days, so I may again become scarce for a while. I'll try to stop in when I can. They are going to take a piece of my large intestine out and reconnect the rest. I am hoping this will be the end of it, but it's going to be a slow recovery.     Members of PerC, I regret to inform you that my left lung has collapsed and I am currently in the hospital undergoing treatment. This is my third collapsed lung. Last year my right lung collapsed due to structural defects I was born with, and this May it collapsed again. I had laproscopic surgery to permanently correct the right side. However, now the left side has gone. I am not in any danger, only a great deal of pain, and am having that same surgery in the morning. I'm not sure how much ...

    There's many things i could say about being stuck either metaphorically or physically but this isn't that kind of pondering blog.

    Just about everyone I know is or recently has been sick, so it’s a good thing that the university I attend has an interesting perk for students and faculty. On one end of the main campus is a health clinic, complete with fully-licensed doctors and nurses, a pharmacist, and all the wonderful equipment that basic health clinics have. This clinic is paid for in one of those hundreds of miscellaneous fees that students pay, and as a result, visits, and prescriptions resulting from visits, are “free.” ...
