  1. FYI: I'm in the middle of a health issue

    by , 06-10-2019 at 06:16 PM
Just in case anyone doesn't know. I have developed chronic diverticulitis, which is going to require surgery. It has significantly slowed my roll, and I have lost 60 pounds in the last few months. I am scheduled for surgery in about 10 days, so I may again become scarce for a while. I'll try to stop in when I can. They are going to take a piece of my large intestine out and reconnect the rest. I am hoping this will be the end of it, but it's going to be a slow recovery. I've got to spend some time ...

    A Hard Lesson to Learn

It has been more than 30 years ago since I graduated high school. In my senior year, my last semester, I needed an English credit, so I took “Creative Writing.” Now this class had prerequisites that made it impossible for a freshman or sophomore to take it. I will be spotty for the next week or so, visiting with family takes priority over being online. I hope everyone, regardless of whether they actually celebrate the holiday or not, has something to be thankful for. I know I do.
  5. Temet nosce: Change can only begin with yourself

    by , 01-15-2013 at 08:59 PM
Okay, I'm older. I've been through a few things. I served in the military at the end of the Cold War and the First Gulf War. I have two degrees. I grew up in New York State, went to high school in Western Pennsylvania, and have managed to travel a good part of the world. I have a broad knowledge base, I am clever, I am good at improvising on the fly, and I give everyone a chance. I don't think knowledge is the ultimate means to my ends anymore, wisdom is. Combining my knowledge with my experience ...
