I think I tend to like the so called conscious hip hop. I like stuff like Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Dead Prez, Roots Manuva, Jurassic 5, and such.

Also, quite a fan of more odd, almost avant garde hip hop like Antipop Consortium, Clouddead, Boom Bip, Doseone, and El-P.

A Tribe Called Quest, Madvillain, Madlib, J Dilla, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Public Enemy, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Run DMC, Saul Williams, De La Soul, Id Obelus, Anti-Pop Consortium...

    stuff like that

I don't listen to much Hip hop anymore, but it varied and still does.

X-cutioners, RJD2, DJ Jaku, MF Doom, 1 Jay-z album and 1 Kanye West album. Those are the only hip hop artists I have right now.

CTRL + F "Drake" = Phrase not found

What the hell? My sister has followed Drake ever since he very first started and he's a very good rapper. I highly recommend you check him out. Its hard for me to choose a song or two of his as best but yea.

Don't forget Tupac, Turran. You have to remember to mention him twice.

Jazz is part of the hip hop genre now? If so, then I must be a big hip hop fan. I have no specific artists I prefer, but I do prefer the older era of jazz, especially songs that could be described a being created during the 'beginning' of the jazz era.

No! Jazz is not part of hip hop. I was referring to the fact that Jazz is one of my favorite genres. Jazz is its own thing...

    Absolutely!

    Public Enemy
    Run DMC
    De La Soul
    Nas
    early Wu-Tang Clan
    Jurassic 5
    some 2Pac
    some Ice Cube

If you include the UK garage/grime scene then I also like a bit of Dizzee Rascal and I fucking love the Streets. There is so much heart, soul and sensitivity in the Streets music it moves me to the core of my INFP soul. Plus he's got some awesome beats and is distinctively British which means that a lot of the little jokes and references in there confuses everybody who doesnt live over here.

Us British hip hop fans are so used to hearing the big American rappers talking about John Madden and American shit we know nothing about we've just got to the point where we've accepted that we're going to need to look at Wikipedia to find out what the lyrics are about to a lot of the tracks. Finally we get our own back!
