If Team A beats Team B and Team C beats Team A, then Team C must be better than Team A, this statement is so flawed.

So if Ti isn't filtered through something like Ne it is so proned to being wrong because Team C can't just beat Team A like that, there are so many variables involved.

How would an ISTP approach this

If rock beats scissors and scissors beats paper than rock should logically also beat paper. The logic is sound!

I agree that this kind of thing doesn't work for systems such as this. You're measuring things on a lot of different axes and some combinations of them can measure up differently than other combinations. It works for some things though:

If team A has scored more points than team B and team B has scored more points than team C, that means that team A has scored more points than team C. It works because we're measuring just one specific thing.

You mean "then Team C must be better than Team B"?

It would depend on at least two factors: luck (statistics) and if it's a game based on luck or skill.
So if it's a game of skill and it happened a lot, I think you're safe to say Team C wins.
In any other situation it's impossible to tell. Or in fact an invalid statement.

With the information given, the logic is pretty sound if I look at it as objectively as possible. I am aware that there are many variables (like broken feet), but that is an assumption that doesn't fit into the specific situation provided. If we always assume there are several variables in any given situation, then there would never be a best fit answer to any question. Any answer could be right. However, that is the most correct answer using the information given.

My personal view: actually every time I encounter these "riddle like" questions, I always immediately go through all the different variables, but I've learned that actually, sometimes the most sound logic for why something happened is the best fit method of figuring it out.
