So often I've read this... do they have plates on their back?
... do you ask them to take the test?... then to tell you the result?
... do you put the label - based on your experience?

    - is this MBTI system so spread in your culture/country?

I'm so confused... Please share your way to learn about other's MBTI type!

When people do this, it can generally be assumed that they're guessing (based on behavioral patterns they've noticed). Of course, MBTI is a theory anyway. Even if you had a person take the test, the result still may not be "valid."

Just good guesses. Some are much more obvious/easily identified than others! Usually I make a guess, read their profile to see if fits, then sometimes I'll ask them to take the test. I already knew my parents' types before I knew mine, though, as they'd already been tested professionally.

Usually by seeing what their dominant function is and working from there. You only need to figure out their first two functions to figure out what they are. Some can be harder than others obviously, and people will be in different stages in their lives/development, but as a general rule it seems to work.

I still struggle with this. I find it easier to type people enneagrams more than anything else.
