Question for fellow DaveSuperPowers watchers (Ni vs Si demon)

Hey, so this is mostly concerning people who watch DaveSuperpowers....I am not sure if i have demon Ni or Si....meaning i have narrowed down my type to an ESFP and an ENFP.
i do not know whether i am Ne/Fi or Se/Fi. Could anyone explain to me the difference between demon Ni and Si, and the specific problems these demons cause..
Also, I cannot seem to know if I am Ne dom, or Se dom with bits of Ni flashing everywhere. I mean, I just cant figure out.
The end thing is, whichever one is my Demon, Ni or Si, thats my type. BTW..if you do not watch DaveSuperPowers...watch it, both for yourselves and for helping me out XD

    Hello Big S.

I don't completely understand the shadow functions myself. I am still finding lots to explore with the main 4 cognitive functions that we use. I do watch DaveSuperPowers, I like his videos and how he presents his information. I also like this website:
    http://www.typeinmind.com

I see how it can be hard to figure out if you are Ne or Se dom. I was reading the description of the ESFP taken from here:
    https://www.typeinmind.com/sefi/
It is true that I also like to engage my senses when I am gathering information. The Type In Mind website seems to suggest SeFi is more of a doer. I have difficulty putting my thoughts into action, even if it is something I know I would see as fun. It is true that I like to go outside for nature walks. But I think what really pushes me to go for walks is the promise of being among other people (being extroverted).

I thought this paragraph was helpful in narrowing down a difference between SeFi and NeFi (taken from typeinmind's description of ESFP).

SeFi’s are excited about the here and now of what is going on around them. They are very present, and might find it difficult to plan far into the future. They are so fully present in the moment that the current situation they find themselves in feels like it’s their whole world. If you were to ask an SeFi what their life is like, they would probably tell you about their current circumstances rather than the big picture.
As an ENFP, I notice that being present isn't a natural state for me. I get distracted by just about everything. A beautiful pair of shoes, someone's cologne, a part of an overheard conversation...even when I converse with someone, I can easily steer the conversation to another topic but in my mind, it is relevant and connected. Also, asking the SeFi what their life is like; I totally get what this sentence is describing. The NeFi will describe their life in terms of the big picture, meaning from cradle to now. We will include all of our positive/negative experiences, how our culture and environment shaped us, we may or may not mention anxieties or any abuse since this is kind of personal. It's the past, present and potential future. The sum of all our knowledge and experiences.

Ugh this is so frusterating, i mean the website is really good and has tons of info (I have used it before) but OK my initial reaction to reading Se and then Ne was "im more Se than Ne"....I don't really have my head in the clouds coming up with theories and stuff.
At the same time, when i need to, I have a good imagination. If I do something for fun, it has to have a real world application (if i were to do art, plan, watch a show, it should benefit me some way in the real world other than just for fun )
I did really "intuiony" stuff as as a child like art and play with toys and read, but I was SUPER mindful and remember indulging in the present moment so well, but now, I just more spaced out than i used to, like even though I agreee partly with Se, I am not always completely in the moment and do enjoy planning for the future, only if it is realistic and is something fun "I.E ;parties, etc) so yea ugh XD

Its like I'm leaning on the ESFP side, but i just feel like my life has had way too much overthinking, imagining random scenarios and also visualizing everything someone says to me in a conversation, but also I do not completely agree with Ne. Could i be an ESFP with strong Ni??
One last thing- I have been known to be addicted to 1 hobby, and do research for the hobbie and just be dedicated. I used to be a gamer for 3 years, and most of my free time was gaming, and analyzing gaming videos as a kid so i could be better and show off XD, but then, i got into sports, and got obsessd with training vids, training, fitness, etc, for 5 years. I dont switch up hobbies often.

@The Big S . I hardly know how to detect my Si, so I can't answer you there. On whether you are Ne or Se Dom---- we could help you plenty there.

You are Ne. Look at what you are saying on over-thinking, imagining random scenarios and and there is NO WAY that you could be a ESFP with strong Ni. No no no... what is your primary thing to do? Imagine scenarios. A ESFPs primary thing to do is to get into their physical world and not over-think at all.

So many ENFPs get on here and over-think it. That's what we do.... I don't switch up my hobbies often at this point, but I constantly want more info from the hobbies I've got. A Se dom will be looking for more sensory info constantly. We will be looking for more concepts and ideas and imagination stuff.

alright that settles it, even though I feel most like myself in the moment and mindful, that also come with all the imagination...An example of this was right now, after my shower, I looked at myself in the mirror and this is my unconcious thought process; (Man i look like clark kent.....(imagines a dude i know with clark kent hair then imagines all the girls going after him)...then instantly imagines my family reacting to my new hair)...then realizes his thought process XD) so this is an Ne thing right? Just making 100 percent sure XDD

Yeah, it's a good website but I don't think its description of Se was 100% correct. As I was reading it, I found I identified with a lot of how it describes Se but I see it is due to the words the writer used. The part I quoted is actually the best part I thought that differentiated the two well. I mainly use that website to find out a person's cognitive functions.

I am not always coming up with theories either. I think this is also a bad description of Ne. It is more accurate to say that I like to gather information, we do this most of the time. Creating theories and ideas happens less often and spontaneously. Well, this is true for me and when you look at every individual ENFP, this starts to vary a lot. Some will say they create ideas all the time. I also spend a lot of time thinking about people. Either I know them or I just think of the human race and the direction we are going with present day issues such as the growing use of social media, the increasing amount of debt we accrue due to over spending and the rise of waste we produce.

I have never changed my hobbies that often as well. Try not to think about how you behaved as a child, children are not fully developed. Try to focus on how you behave now.

Let's examine this from a different angle. What is it that you don't agree with Se and Ne specifically? Give as much detail as you can.

Ok so this is going to be based off my knowledge of cognitive functions.
Se- I am not always in the moment with an unbiased and raw view of the present moment, but I do love being mindful and do for example need specific facts to come up with a prediction. When someone is telling me a story, I ask them for specific details constantly so i can forumale a system of facts then add them up to come up with a prediction of what happened. But, I do imagine a lot, and sometimes imagine random scenarios for fun. Also, I do not like anything unless it has a real world application- I do not like theories that are just for theoretical sake.
Ne- I don't really have that "random" brained stereotype as Ne. I find it hard to improv, for example, and I am very bad at conversation. I think it because of my social anxiety, but still, my mind is not buzzing with ideas and stuff like that. I do have interests in gathering information, but not from a large spectrum- right now, my main sources of gathering are- health articles, fitness, MBTI, psychology, and self help videos and political meme videos XD.
This paragraph was not as clear as i envisioned, maybe if u need for info can u please ask me some specific questions pls XD

Okay I have kind of a “test” for you. Find the “MBTI and Neuroscience” thread on the NF board. Then look at the Dario Nardi power point on the first or 2nd thread. Check out the info about 4 to 7 slides in that talks about Verbal word play. If your brain “likes” the list on the right side better, it’s a good chance you are Ne-don. Also look at the description of Ne brains like a Christmas tree at about 58:38. (Below)
The best part is at the end where he says Ne’s take a bit longer to answer but it’s because of all the many many possibilities we come up with which is why we are slower on improv. We think of too many things and have to decide. Just give us a sec!

But I always think to myself that whenever non Ne doms describe Ne that they either under or over do it. Because really the things my brain plays with have to do with my interests at that moment. So saying “dog and cat” is too boring for my brain to want to play with unless there is a something “new” that makes it fun to direct my thinking to. So for instance tell me “We need a Oceans 11 type story written from a dog or cats perspective.” Well... if it’s interesting to my brain my brain will take off. That idea there is almost too boring as well.... but anyway, whatever is new or interesting to me right now is where I will decide to come up with lots of scenarios, plans, etc. A Se dom will want new new new input as well, but Of more of a physical nature. They shine in crisis situations, sports. A ESFP also likes reading about self-help stuff, usually that’s where their Ni is. They get more info looking outside than from talking about math concepts. Things have to be “real” for Se. actually I can’t even really pretend to understand it Se also has the best physical memory of all types, even above Si. They will remember tastes, smells, etc not in an abstract way but as if they were tasting it or smelling it now.

I remember my ISTP dad driving us out of some car wreck possibilities. There was once my dad got us out of something and there was like a 15 car pile up that happened when a decel truck jack-knifed in front of us on a Icy road. My ENFP mom whose brain thinks in concepts shouted “Jack-Knife!” And my dad instantly went into gear and maneuvered his split-second way out of the way and out safe.

Ok so to me, the words on the left are obviously more easy to use, but they words on the right was much more enjoyable but so much more mentally taxing. But, I think I was quite succesful. For example, I improved the sentences as I said them out loud and said each word with absolutly no planning-

-Underwear computer- I wish I could learn information without even trying, like imagine a computer that you were as an underwear that downloads information into your body 24/7?
-Fish Leach- "Man, I hate going to the river and seeing the fish so spread out and all over the place..I wish I could like use some kind of fish leash to hold them in one place...Hey, a fishing rod is a fish leash, and with multiple strings attached, it is a fish leash!
-Karma Shelf- whenever I do something bad, I am connected to 2 shelves- one with karmic energy, one with positive. As my karmic energy increases, my positive energy decreases.
    - Conversation Kit- i wish i had a bag that had a bunch of words floating in it, so that i can randomly pick out "Fire engine" when talking to people and i hit a slump.

Is this Ne? I am sure there is an element of Ne to it, but it was harder than the left words, obviously. But, one thing, is i improved these, and thought of the comparisons in the middle of saying the sentence.

Yes! This is Ne. Only Ne doms and Ne Aux can make coherent sentences out of the right column. Plus, just because you can make intelligent sentences out of the right side doesn't mean it will be easy for you to do so. Maybe it will if you score highly with Ne and maybe it won't if you score lower on the MBTI.

It is not easy for me either to construct sentences from the right side but I know I can do it.
