    The Artist Alley Request

I've just been lost in a void lately. Need some inspiration. I've already painted two in the last month. If you want a painting just post a picture of yourself. To better do a painting for you if you could fill out the questionnaire it will help me imagine a digital artwork for you.

    • Three adjectives to describe yourself
    • Favorite color
    • What do you like to collect
    • Favorite past time
    • MBTI type
    • Enneagram

These will kind of get me an idea of what to paint.

*I'll try to get to all requests but are not guaranteed

    Examples.

Just curious; what software/techniques do you use to make these?
Every time I see your work I'm honestly astounded.
It looks like photography + some replication media program (i.e. ArtRage or Adobe Fresco).

I've used coral draw in the past but it's adobe photoshop now, doesn't give an accurate art look like coral does but ehh it's what's on my computer now. My old one had coral. I guess I could buy a better art platform to work with but I'm used to it. I paint them from scratch but I do use a photo to reference the person.

I hadn't seen Adobe Fresco and I have the whole suite that I pay for monthly. I could download it and mess with it.... EKKKKKK. New tutorials here I come.

I know how to use Illustrator but I've never seen Fresco. I normally use Illustrator for print shops because it's not pixeled. Photoshop I have to start the project at 300 dpi in case I want to print them out in the large format for a frame.

Something I did for a printshop and my gaming guild. We all went to a show wearing individual shirts I made up for everyone. lol

I would do traditional paint (I'm good with all mediums) I'm just lazy about cleaning my brushes afterwords. I might do more charcoal work here and there. I used to be in that medium the most until I was introduced to the digital world. I also can do mixed medium, pulling a photo and painting on it till I get the desired effect. The artworks in my first post in this thread are full-on paint. Meaning I use a photo for reference on the side but I don't paint on it. My mixed medium work is actually what got me noticed by a designer and then I entered the fashion world with my photography and kind of hung up my art for a while.

I'm mostly a realist when I paint. I try to get as detailed orientated as possible. I still think I mess up.

This is a different style, I was trying more of an outline instead of shadowing. It was extremely hard to not finish, this was also done in photoshop

This is a traditional outline of mine using a pencil and my sketchbook.

This is a photo I used for the blow painting. You might be able to tell I didn't get the eyes, jaw, or mouth just right in the painting but I think it turned out beautiful. Of course, art doesn't have to completely like the person. I did get permission from @ai.tran.75 to use it. All painted with photoshop. Most birds, butterflies, flowers, cups, cats I can do from scratch without having reference from a photo.

Funny story, this one I did for my husband using photoshop too. I messed up his hair. I was trying to paint him in a scene for star citizen but my computer rebooted and I had forgotten to save and lost everything of the body except for the head I did. lol I cringe when I look at that hair. I was so upset about losing the work I never finished it. I was trying to make him look tougher than the baby boy looks he has.

Anyways I probably spewed out too much information and rambled.... though I did try to answer your question on what mediums I do and how I do them. Maybe TLDR.

Oh no, I love hearing it! I'm a design student myself; insanely passionate about the field!
Yeah, Fresco is a recent development in the CC line I hadn't heard of until a few days ago.
It should be interesting to try. I'm really fond of Illustrator for digital work, but traditional pencil, and acrylic, flips my creative switch too.
Several graphic novel series I'm planning to start/finish, within the next few years. Side projects. Exciting.
I also love the illustration you made of Ai; that color palette is just right. Pixie is pretty also, lovely gesture/detailwork.
    Thanks for the explanation!

My paintings are so so slow.

@NIHM have you thought of making a graphic novel— they are getting more popular, as far as my 44 year old self can tell. I think you’d be amazing at it. /smile
