HI! i am an Artist. Photographer designer and on an out of work self imposed project Ive decided to try my hand at writing. Ive always loved sci-fy or fantasy novels. I started writing and this is what is coming out check out my blog. The Book Experiment

I am trying to write something everyday. and as a source of motivation i want people to follow along lol well if they're interested anyways...

here is a passage I like so far
Humergusts are headstrong creatures who love to sleep on their bellies submitting themselves to an annoyingly absurd predicament for their characteristic breath gusts indubitably elevate and move them about. In their infinite practicality, however, they have mostly solved this problem implementing the well-known practice of adding a simple leather belt to their beds.

I would love to hear any constructive criticism :)

I LOVE to write! It's one of the few times I actually share ALL of me. Being on this forum is making me wonder if I'm more of an INFP than and ENFP and I could very well be. But...Exactly the way I talk is the way that I write. And I hardly ever change anything. I just hate to edit. Just write your heart out. It doesn't even have to make sense! Just put it all out there. It feels sooooo good!

This is pretty much exactly what comes out when I sit down to stream of consciousness write. Here, let me edit.

Humergusts are headstrong creatures who love to sleep on their bellies submitting themselves to an annoyingly absurd predicament, for their breathing, which comes in the characteristic gusts that give them their names, indubitably elevates and moves them about. In their infinite practicality, however, they have mostly solved this problem implementing the widely accepted practice of adding a simple leather belt to their beds.

As for my own writing, I know I'm very good at writing, but I don't really have a passion for it as a career. I do really enjoy my writing assignments in English, it gives me an excuse to write about something and I end up really happy with what I've written. My mom is part of a book club and knows quite a bit about different writing styles and what different author's strength and weaknesses are, she always tells me I have a fantastically descriptive writing style.
I figure that might be a compliment many ENFPs get, it seems to just be part of my personality.

I like writing, but I can never get anything longer than a short story going really, I tried to build an entire world before I began writing but I jumped into my characters too fast, plus I'm having a lot of trouble writing realistic dialogue I'm happy with, I usually end up scrapping it because I decide it sounds like it was written by a third grader.

Instead I just stick to writing for assignments or if I feel an urgent need to get something down on paper.
I also have a journal I write in irregularly, I started it when I realized I was seeking out random people to complain about the exact same things over and over, that I really didn't need any meaningful response but just wanted to talk my problems out with someone as my wall. I figured a journal is the exact same thing only I won't bother people XD

lol thank you. I like that! however that was a quote lifted from a paragraph in which I was already talking about their breaths and how they come in quite strong gusts! I would love to entice you into reading more of it :) Like I said I am an artist this is the first thing i have ever written. Also english is my second lenguage

I guess my story is for 3rd graders son am happy if it appeals to them

Ah, that's very good then, especially with English as a 2nd language.

I very much like the whimsical lyrical cadence of the passage. I'll probably head over to your blog, I opened it but I don't have time to sit down and read through the whole thing, I'll give it a whirl when I get a chance and tell you what I think ^^

Are there any ENFPs who actually do write? If so what have you done to develop your self-discipline so that you write regularly?
My husband who is ENFP found a writing partner who enjoys discussing and writing stories about the same topics but who is also more experienced. They never write in a negative competitiveness but in an encouraging, inspiring form of collaboration. Helped him immensely. They do this over instant messaging to keep the dialogue and feedback fresh and ongoing. They also have a shared goal which is writing short stories, not longer than 6000 words. His friend often reminds him positively to do things like use active verbs and to not linger too much on description of inanimate, impersonal objects for their particular writing style (which is a frequent hang up that my ENFP encounters).

He loves to write, but often loses momentum to never finish his work, so this has been a very refreshing friendship for him lending progression to something he would otherwise let dwindle to inactivity altogether. He gets the attention on him and his work that he needs, the insight, and the constructive criticism that he needs in order to forge ahead creatively.

I used to just sit down and write whatever comes to mind, but when that happens, whatever I write seems very unstructured and random. When I try to plan what I want to write, I usually lose inspiration and my muse flies off somewhere to lie on a hammock with a coconut in hand. DX

    Dang it...

I love writing but like you I struggle with staying focus. I was suppose to begin writing a novel but I sided-tracked, which I was 5 months ago and haven't written since. I always wanted to start a journal, similar to Bridget Jones but I got bored or side-tracked or forget.

Gotten to hate the P-ness, sometimes!
