Enneagram + Music Tastes Survey - All Types Needed!

    Hello folks of all Enneatypes!
Local (or not, it depends) music and personality type synthesist here.

    Here's the context:
So not long ago, as I've been getting better at typing folks "in the wild," I noticed that I happened to listen to/enjoy a lot of musicians who share my enneatype - type 9. So, I was curious as to whether my type was just really widely appreciated, or if everyone is likely to have a preference for songwriting by someone who shares their type, or even their center (head, gut or heart). That's my hypothesis.

So I created this survey to get some responses and see if I could either support or debunk my hypothesis. I'm planning to do a write up on the results for my blog.

Would you do me a kindness and respond to my ENNEAGRAM + MUSIC TASTE survey?
It's completely anonymous, takes about 25 min to complete, and you get to listen to a lot of ~interesting~ tunes by different enneatypes and different genres, so please respond if you can and help uncover some cool correlations! https://goo.gl/forms/EPXwBPMAMKHARnJE2

Also, check out my blog if you want, here's a post: Encouragement for Type 9s: https://involumesblog.wordpress.com/...t-for-type-9s/

Thank you! Also I welcome constructive feedback for improving the survey (in future editions) as a reply to this thread.

    That was pretty fun, done.

I'm kind of biased but I would have been interested to see the responses to heavier kinds of music (metal and hard rock) than those that were included in the questionnaire. There was also a lot of "alternative" type stuff, even within the pop music you included, so maybe more diversity in the future. Non-modern music would be interesting as well. Kind of old stuff like stuff from 50's-80's would be nice, but responses to classical music would be particularly intriguing to me. I like the concept of this survey, though, and there were a couple of artists I was interested in further hearing.

Some more light acoustic pieces would be nice ;)

We could... swing the other way, too

One thing I'd have really wanted in the questionnaire is the ability to rate the chosen song and the three-song set overall separately. Had more than one example where I liked one song and hated the other two.

I would've liked to see an instinctual subtype question thrown in. I've noticed and have had my taste in music here described as So/Sp-ish.

The problem with that is that instincts are a hot mess, though, as interesting as they are.

I get you! Lol, we're all biased, so it won't be perfect for everyone or include every genre... I chose to limit the genres to keep the survey short, to encourage a larger sample size.

Every artist featured I had to either find their type recorded somewhere online, or type them myself, so it was biased to artists I have heard of and know the enneagram types of.
I agree though, some metal or non-modern music would be interesting to include! Send me some metal musicians/classical composers and their enneatypes and I can include them in a follow up survey!

The first song is really scary lol. Like wow, there are so many different sounds out there! But It'd be interesting to have in a survey, to at least balance the "lighter" songs... do you know the enneagram types of the artists you linked?

Thanks for the feedback, I can see your point! Maybe in a future survey I could include that feature, it could be elucidating.

Thanks for the feedback! That's an interesting avenue to explore, but I think it would be beyond the scope of my particular (albeit, broad) focus on the Centers and Types. I think another survey altogether would be in order to explore instincts, but that's just me.
