New help with enneagram type, trytipe, IV and so on

    Hello everyone!

Now I'm looking for answers about my enneagram type (and instinctual variations and so on). Let me put some points here:

I'm a really anxious person. I'm always looking to the future and planning. It becomes more serious when I'm in a relationship, because I am very troubled about losing my partner and things changing for no real reason...

I'm a perfectionist who always want to give it's best to the world and people. I always put a lot of pressure on myself doing the 'right' thing, to make others pleased with me.

Even if I'm a perfectionist, another side of my personality doesn't really like following rules and procedures, and I stay lots of time in my own head (and it causes me trouble dealing with the practical side of life, very much neglected and put on a second side).

I have a tendency to not being assertive and to hide my own thoughts from other people. I'm very shy and, unfortunately, passive (I'm trying to deal with it).

I'm curious with my mental pictures, but once I can give it shape, know well what I want to find. I'm not the kind of person who draw a lot of different lines outside myself to know something, but inside of my own head, things are boiling at a hot temperature...

I don't like to deal with my own anger. It's usually repressed, though I know when I'm stressed out. In a huge stress state, I tend to be very physical and impulsive.

My feelings, in general, are usually repressed, as my anger...

I have kind of a 'knowalotofthings' personality, but my memory tends to function in rather an unconcious way. I absorb lots of information whithout knowing how.

I stay lots of time trying to figure out unconscious pictures. Usually there's a picture that comes to mind and I deal with it as a friend. I'm so used to see them that when they come it's like a natural thing, even if it's kind of a vision. I could realize better that they exist talking to my junguian therapist about it.

I'm very unattached to things and to the majority of people. It's like there is an untransponible distance between me and the object. I'm not really attached to physical reality and it's realms.

I want to do something to change society, one way or another. I want to bring innovation to this world, specially about technology and/or spiritual knowledge. I'm skilled in counseling people, calming them down and offering ways to go and non judgmental shoulder.

Best thing to do as an Enneagram beginner: Forget tritype, forget instincts, just explore core types and maybe wings. The other stuff, while they seem helpful and look like they'd bring clarity actually just cause a ton of mistypings and misunderstandings. The core type profiles, when understood well, are plenty.

Hey, the overall paragraph sounds very 1w9 or 9w1 except for the looking towards the future part and a few bits here and there that sound 5 yet there is far not enough.

Would you say you prefer dealing with people or interesting things and concepts?

    Especially this part*

You could pass this test, it's like the rheti from enneagraminstitute, if you want:

RHETI is a pretty bad test, would take something else.

Interesting, could you elaborate? I have had good results on this test when people answer seriously, and to all questions (it gets biaised when like 5-10 questions are left blank). What other tests do you prefer?

A big issue with the RHETI is that the type profiles don't really jive with what's described in the books or how the Institute staff themselves type people - some are broadly fine, eg. the people typed as Nines by the RHETI tend towards emotional stability, low reward drive/introversion and have high dispositional empathy, which is consistent with how Nines are portrayed in the books. But some are pretty iffy, the chief sin being Threes: By the books, you'd expect them to have an above average level of reward sensitivity and positive emotionality, and the people typed by Institute staff do score above average on Extraversion (the root cause of Extraversion is positive emotionality and reward sensitivity). The people typed as Threes by the RHETI? *below* average. Just a little bit below average, mind you, but there's no world in which a good Enneagram test should leave its Threes leaning towards low or even average Extraversion.

The Ones that get live-typed by Institute staff also scored above average on Neuroticism or Negative Emotionality, in line with "It seems to them that they are sitting on a cauldron of passions and desires and that they better 'keep the lid on' lest they and everyone else around them regret it." The people RHETI types at One? They're below average on negative emotionality, ie. tend towards being solid, ubothered kind of characters who aren't easily emotionally moved by negative signals. Where's the need for self-control if you rival Eights in sheer immunity to negative input?

As far as other tests go, I personally like the short tests in Wisdom of the Enneagram, the SEDIG or Essential Enneagram test, and the classic Ecletic Energies one. None of the have any great degree of background work done as far as I know (with the exception of the SEDIG being able to say how accurate they are with regard to live typings, but there's no data on eg. personality profiles of people choosing specific paragraphs to my knowledge). So all of the above is just opinion on what I like and seems like least bullshit, little else.
