    I'm neither.

"An independent voter register as an unaffiliated voter in the United States, is a voter of a democratic country who does not align him- or herself with a political party. An Independent is variously defined as a voter who votes for candidates and issues rather than on the basis of a political ideology or partisanship; a voter who does not have long-standing loyalty to, or identification with, a political party; a voter who does not usually vote for the same political party from election to election; or a voter who self-describes as an independent."

This is pretty much how I align myself in life too.... voting for the issues I personally believe in as opposed to the party. I hate the idea of aligning myself to a group anyway. Fuck group mentality horseshit, I'm just an outlaw baby.

I think the political dichotomy thing is painfully stupid. Why the hell should a nation be ideologically governed anyway? Ideologists spew bullshit and beliefs - often with no evidence to back it up.

With enough sociological studies, we should be able to figure out the optimal system for government without having to resort to ideological bullshit.

For example, there's plenty of evidence to suggest that increasing economic equality is pretty much the cure-all for societal problems: The Evidence in Detail | The Equality Trust. That debate is over. The answer is known and undeniable. Now we just have to get to implementation. Studies such as these should be conducted in more areas, and the results should be used to create a better society.

Humans are animals, and just as animals, certain kinds of environments are optimal for us. Others are not. Certain social structures are optimal for us. Others are not. The answers to how our society should be constructed must be the result of studies of the human species, instead of arbitrary ideologies and belief systems.

    Howdy, Ho, Captain! This ^

I think some people need to have their political dichotomy defined for themselves as a group because there are some crazy hats out there that "need to be a part of something". It's this pseudo aristocratic mentality that everyone is a cohesive identity as opposed to being independent of one another. I personally don't understand mentalities like this but most of the people I've found in life are so reliant on wanting to "belong". Sad, but whatever, no two people share the same values. So for the sake of clarity to those who cannot align themselves independently, they go find their own flock of flamingos.

I also do not understand how someone can just align their beliefs with one ideology but Nazi Germany is a sure example that it's possible..... along with the USSR, North Korea, etc etc.

America! America! God piss your ideas on me! And crown thy piss with bleach and this - From conservatism to shining pee!~~~
