    Where can I find ENTJs?

I am utterly fascinated by ENTJs. Utterly fascinated. There's something about them that makes me smile, laugh, and cackle maniacally.

I personally don't know any ENTJs in real life though, and that's something I desperately want to rectify. Only problem is, I'm an INTP - not only do almost all social gatherings just drain my soul, but I also don't exactly seem to connect with most people IRL seeing as most of the world appears to be SF.

So I turn to you, O wise online denizens. Where can I find people like you? And how can I more easily spot one of you?

I'm not exactly an ENFP, I don't have the best immediate people reading skills - it takes me some time afterwards to reflect on what happened before I can figure it out, and by that time it's often too late!

Gym, coffee shops (look for the ones with laptops and graphs on their screens), at work obviously, office/ business parties,
... I like going out with friends, but dislike nightlife. So malls where everything is available is usually my drug of choice.

If there's a group of people, find the one that juggles attention to several people and subtly but clearly dominant.

Also try the cafe's at bookstores, and sitting outside at cafes. More than likely we will have more than one tool at hand, eg a llaptop and a book, and a cell phone readily in site. You wont find us hiding in a corner. We need to be around people. Check out cultural events also

I'm personally addicted to meetup.com. Think of NT stuff, and you'll be sure to run into other NTs. Like a philosophy group, or a sci-fi book discussion. Or boardgames-- I absolutely love boardgames!

As others have said... bookstores, cafes, planetariums, science museums.

I can't relate to the Mall suggestion at all. I avoid it like the plague. Also, the gym, can't relate to that either, but YMMV.

Vanitas made a good point... look for the person that people tend to gravitate towards. That may be a clue.

Thank you all for your input so far.

So it sounds like the same kinds of things generally attract INTPs and ENTJs - general NT stuff. Only real difference seems to be the action is reversed, I'm on the outside looking in, you're in the inside possibly looking out (by bringing your work with you). I've bitten the bullet and shown up to events that generally interest me (but would not normally have gone due to my reclusive nature) but I couldn't exactly find someone that fit the bill.

Is this a case of ENTJs being rare as all get out, or am I not able to pick up on who's who (a very possible reason)?

Well, I went to the library yesterday because I was curious if I would find any NF or NT's but it’s so hard to guess if someone is NF or NT. I still cling to my theory that the best possible way to indentify an NF or NT is by having a conversation and trying to steer towards abstract topics and see of the other one becomes interested or doesn't really know what to say.

I also wonder how should you approach someone when you think he/she is an ENTJ? If someone would approach me say in the library and bring some useful information I would appreciate that. How do others think about that? (If I go off topic with this last question I apologise)

Frankly though, your best bet to find ENTJs might be work environment; that's where the ENTJ qualities shine and easiest to recognize. Depends on the particular social circle, I might act xNTP to ESFP when socializing, but definitely ENTJ when dealing with work.

I would say that it is not locations but behaviors that one should look at when seeking ENTJ's. I find that individuals offering practical advice are ENTJ's, such as when you overhear two people talking: Person A says they have a problem and is describing it, and Person B, instead of offering moral and emotional support, give direct steps in which to resolve Person A's problem. In my experience, this often concludes in Person A not taking Person B seriously (unfortunately).

Look for top positions. If you are in an organization of prestige... the leader will prolly be an entj. I am in the symphony orchestra in my college and the conductor is an entj as well as the first violinist. So work your way up the success ladder and you'll run into one.
