I had a brief 'relationship'/fling, whatever, with a deeply unhealthy INTP. Obviously there were upsides to his company - ability to keep up, mentally, I'm sure you guys know what I'm saying here. But my god, he couldn't do life. No job, alienated....absolutely everyone. Arrogant to the max. Ability to be charming, or cruel. I can do that too, but don't like to act unethically.
Anyway, I felt sorry for INTPs after this interaction basically, like 'whew am I grateful for my E! That could easily be me...' But now I feel like I've met a healthy one? (on a dating app) Can you guys help me recalibrate my notion of INTPs, or tell me he's mistyped?
He's pleasant and gentle, laid back, has a job and friends, doesn't seem to need to go into a rant about The Man/authority in every conversation, manages to keep a lid on competitiveness if it's there. But he's clearly a SuperBrain and very independent. He doesn't seem to have the emotional edge of an INFP but isn't focussed on a mission like an INTJ (I was married to an INTJ for years and I'm not getting INTJ vibes at all).
