ESFJ's and all things 'New Age'

Being curious by nature, i don't always like 'concrete' as it means i can't think about things that are far out there ;)

I love all things new age -

    Tarot cards
    Palmistry
    Astrology
    Crystals
    Ghosts and orbs
    Feng shui

Now i have been told this is an NF thing *sigh* so i was wondering if any of you lot had an interest in this or had some personal experience you wanted to share.

I think you have to have a sensitive disposition and be open minded to this kind of thing to truly see or feel it's effects :)

    My personal experience-

I am always spot on with my tarot cards although i don't ask any questions.
Palmistry bewilders me as it is so accurate although it is very time consuming.
I have only dipped into astrology, it gets to complex for me when you mention rising suns and houses etc.
Crystals to me are a bit like placebo's .. Mind over matter but i still buy them, lol.
Ghosts .. This is where i am interested but scared at the same time. I saw 2 men walking down the hallway towards my bedroom, i was between 5-8 yrs old. I once asked whilst in the house alone for someone to make a noise, the door handle moved on it's own and scared the shit out of me, lol.
I have had a few experiences over the last year, every now and again, whilst in bed someone talks to me (It is not my subconscious) but i don't talk back. Someone was in my dining room so i looked around and although i couldn't see them, i knew someone was there (fluctuation in air pressure maybe). I have felt someone put their arms around me and embrace me with such warmth radiating out. On 2 occasions someone has sat on my bed which again scared me, lol. I know they are not here to harm me rather enlighten me but i have placed a barrier in my way instead of delving deeper.
I know i should tap into this and not fear it .. Maybe sooner rather than later. I am aware however that although i dislike my sensitive side, reading about this subject really does give me a sense of inner calm.

I hope to see some replies ;)

    ENFJ - The Givers

I love Astrology/Numerology and Tarot cards. I know my profile says I'm ENFJ but I'm kinda an ESFJ too (I think I'm right in the middle.) My intuition has gotten a lot stronger as I've gotten older so reading tarot and relating to the world in a way that others consider "new agey" just makes sense to me. Moreso than spending days breaking down the exact scientific details. I can get into things on a really detail oriented level, but honestly... I do not have the attention span to need to know something that I know is true is also proven by god and sixteen scientists. Holy crap. The type of research that I find myself doing (for work, or just on my own time) tends to be through conversation and understanding others perspectives rather than numbers ... numbers don't mean anything to me in relation to life. This is not to say I'm not mathematical, but I'm just not very scientific.

I also believe in ghosts. I've seen and felt some crazy things in my thusfar short life... that's what makes me believe it. I don't care if people think I'm crazy because I know what I have experienced and that I am not the only one who has.

Hey Paul .. last weekend i went to a mind, body and spirit exhibition and tried out energy field healing .. I swear to god, it had the most calming influence on me .. I even went back to work today and remained calm and collected, even when i found out i may be out of a job soon, lol

I read some time ago Fuck it, the ultimate spiritual way by John C. Parkin and talked about Chi Kung (Practice with energy) and i thoroughly enjoyed it .. I like the sitting poisition where you visualise heat coming from your hands ..

I brought meditation CD last week and for the first time ever, i got past the nagging procrastinate voice and found myself actually saying nice things for once

    It's all good.

    saslou,

Tai Chi has the energy flow also. I get so much chi, on the palms of my hands, that they turn red and tingle. Where was this exhibition located ?

Can too much chi makes your hands shake or is that possibly that my stress levels are too high??? LOL

(I am very stressed at present so i am trying to make a light hearted joke at myself)

It was located in Birmingham (UK)

Sas, I've never had too much chi, from Tai Chi, which made my hands shake. My right hand naturally shakes, but that's because I have Parkinson's. Tai Chi has a very calming effect on me. Yes, maybe you're right and it's stress. If you continue to shake, for any length of time, seek medical help Sas.

I am so sorry to hear that. How long have you had Parkinson's? How does it effect your everyday life?
(Curious by nature, don't answer if you feel uncomfortable)

I don't see my doctor unless i am in agony .. I have more pressing issues such as life to deal with, lol.
I'll be fine .. But thanks for the concern.

    Sas,

Don't get concerned about the Parkinson's issue. I'm not ! That was mentioned in a joking manner. How long have I had PD? Ummmmmmmmmm.....about 3 years....I guess. I am fine and life is good.
