It's a common thing for our type to be "popular" I guess. Do you think you're popular?

I never feel popular in the conventional sense, but people do say that people know who I am. I've been called popular before...It's weird because I was never like a prep or fit any group like an athlete in high school or college. I didn't really date much either (or ever most of the time). Yet, somehow I was of popular or known...I was and still am a shy guy with my occasional quirky moments yet with an overall earnest and kind attitude.

Yep. I'd definitely say that I am popular. Everyone knows me everywhere. I have the choice of about a thousand people which ones I want as friends. I could have about twenty guys that are pining over me right now. . . . maybe even more. There's no doubt. I know that I'm popular. It's a good feeling. =) [Much better then being hated, like half of the people on this forum seem to do. =P]

...I think it's worth it to be popular or/and liked too, but it's important to be not at the expense of being what you're not. it's natural for me, and it always has been that way even if I denied it.

+1 to what countrygamer said. Don't listen to 'em, they're idiots.
You ESFJs (as a type) seem to get a lot of flak on this forum. Well, the ISFPs like you!

Sorry, this is kinda random lol. I was reading Jawz' MotM interview and he said how we need more ESFJs and I thought I'd come and lurk on your forum for a bit.

    Am I particularly popular?
I don't know. I like people, so I know lots and lots of them. I have noticed that some people really 'squee' over me- I can think of INTJ, INFJ,, INTPx2, other people right off the top who have described me as sort of making myself known and them being like "yayyy" i like her.
so i make myself known. to lots. but in terms of the proportion of people who like vs dislike me, it may be the same proportion as someone with a smaller circle- like, im not more liked than others. i just know more people.

interestingly, i hang out with all the Es I know at parties.so some of my time is spent with like a 10 people per hour ratio. but then those types above ^ whose worlds ive invaded, they get like 1 person per hour time with me. its like introverts get higher percentages of individual time from me.. since they need it that way : )

    Ack! 10 people per hour!
Yes indeed, we do need extra time lol. (Or at least I do...)

Hmm..Do I think people think I'm popular and do I feel popular? The word popular brings me back to high school. In that context, I am like you. I got along well with the athletes and the "mathletes" and everyone else in between. The older I got and became my own person, I can say that I enjoy the company of others and doing activities with others. I often plan activities for/with others. I'm not exclusive with my invitations. My house is always open for drop-bys and the frequent group dinners and movie. I plan trips with my friends and I plan well. I think in detail about everyone and every thing - more than most. My friends come to me and ask me if there's anything going on tonight, or this weekend. I consider myself considerate and allow for plenty "let's see what happens." Are these qualities likable for some? Sure, why not?
I must comment about the idea that most forum visitors aren't particularly fond of us (ESFJs). I guess it's understandable that our personality type has flaws when taken to extremes. But a well-balanced ESFJ (almost 55/45 on each domain), is a very likable person. And yes, they're just jealous. :^)
I don't know if I answered the post question...
