Help!! I need advice for my stressed ESFP friend

Hi guys, my ESFP friend is under stress for 2 years already (mostly from family pressure & relationships failure). It has been developing slowly but now it is pretty serious. His Ni is working like crazy which turns him from a bold, brave and extremely active person into this worry-prone one. He is now thinking about crazy negative things from anything, he's afraid of getting killer-disease from petting a dog, he's assuming that every friends are tired and don't want to play with him anymore, he literally didn't do anything anymore because he afraid something bad will come.

He will now just stay in his room thinking and feeling sad, he even creates schedule for him to follow (I guess that his Te) but he can't commit to it for more than a week, then he will continue to think and feel sad. He even thinks that he is nothing and his character is stupid, it's like he afraid to be himself. Staying in is also killing him because I know he needs tons of activities, but now he is getting weaker everyday. Advice doesn't seem to work when his mind is filled with crazy thoughts. Can anyone show me how to get him out of it? I'm really worry too.

Thank you for reading this and helping!

It's great he has a friend who cares enough to notice. It's really tough to give advice, because once we get into this kind of funk, it's as if we get so stubborn that we don't want to get help or help ourselves, either because we believe we can't, or don't have time to, or don't deserve to.

The problem is the lack of any release, or relax. I think what would help is some positive experience, ideally physical. And a good hug. Are you in the kind of friendship, where a hug would be acceptable? I don't mean a one-armed bro-hug, but the proper kind. The other things is, can you get him to exercise? Either by himself, or with you, or if you tell him, that you would appreciate his help with motivation, and that you want to go to the gym or running, or something with him? He might be easier persuaded if he thinks he's doing it for you, not for himself. And he needs an adventure. A roadtrip with friend/s and some music in the car, a camping trip, whatever you can come up with. It really helps when you know you're not doing it alone.
