    Fucked up mind

One of my buddies at work told me that I have a fucked up mind when I said it would be a waste of money if we got off work early because I had bought myself $5 worth of food on top of my normal lunch in case we work over time.

Do you agree or not? Is this the result of difference in personality types?

No offense but that sounds like something only an ESTJ would say.

You're both wrong. It's not a waste of money, because you can probably save the $5 worth of food (what can you buy for $5 anymore, can't even buy a sandwich for that most places?) and eat it later.
Unless your job is really despicable and dangerous, or unless you were getting really worked up over this, you weren't displaying a "fucked up mind", just a slightly misbalanced observation. It doesn't sound extreme enough to accuse you of being fucked up, unless your friend has the habit of using such extreme language most of the time, which he probably does.

Sounds cautious, but pragmatic.. If you had to work overtime, you would have at least had something to eat - keep your energy up.

I see no flaw in you wanting to be prepared. It is probably not a factor of personality type, but would still be a factor of priorities themself. Your colleague may just have wanted to finish early and fuck off home or wherever.

I could totally picture myself doing that. One day, I went into NYC with my friends, knowing we would be doing nothing except hanging around Central Park and visiting her grandma. I bring a huge wad of cash just incase I end up seeing something I want. I never do ever see anything I want, except maybe an ice cream cone or hot pretzel. I tend to over-pack when going to anywhere, too. "Hm, we may end up getting into a huge water fight, or it might start pouring for no reason, I might as well bring an extra change of clothes. And maybe if I get thirsty, I'll bring a water bottle. Oooh, maybe my friend will want one too, I'll bring an extra. Or three. Not to mention if we get hungry..."

I don't think that's fucked up. You were just told that by someone who doesn't share money consciousness.
