POPPYCOCK! Who said don't look back, don't believe them, go for that crazy sounding restaurant, they're going to try and get behind you. Don't let them do it.

Ofcourse our primary function is Fi so it directs to us. Even after knowing the psychology of types, ppl using it for complaining instead of understanding.

To answer the OP question, my INFP friend which happens to be my cousin is your typical INFP: caring but withdrawn. He writes poetry and he's such a player. We ESTPs get the credit for being player. But he's more a player than I am. He gets different girls every week while Im the one thinking about settling down.

The only neagtive thing is that sometime he'd try to use people to do things for him instead of doin it himself. He tried with me, but no one pushes me to do things.
    Uh..unhealthy INFP

Yes! This! It ruined my relationship as i was unable to speak anything to him back due to his intense gaze and it only happened in his case.

    INTJ - The Scientists

My INFP BFF is an IT tech. Definitely more technically proficient than me, at least when it comes to computers. He's kind of INTP-like in that way, if we're going by stereotypes. By contrast, I'm the "nature guy." Kind of ISFJ-like, maybe, despite being INTJ. So in a sense, it's like we got our stereotypes mixed up. He definitely considers me to be the Sam to his Frodo. Actually, he told me at least once that I'm like a cross between Pippin and Sam!

He's definitely the Frodo, though. Which is fitting since Frodo is an INFP. And he loves old-school Star Wars. Which is fitting because Luke Skywalker is an INFP. He struggles with social anxiety and he has a psychogenic stutter (the result of prolonged psycho-emotive trauma), so he definitely has some Alphys in him, though he'd never admit it because he hates Undertale. He also hates anime, unlike me. We've been friends since the early '90s and in all that time, I've never been able to get him interested in anime. He doesn't understand that there's a genre out there for everyone. He just assumes that it's all lame.

Oh, and he's not nearly as Open to Experience as me. He's very rigid in his food choices, for example, whereas I'm the exact opposite. And he's not an enthusiast of natural foods like I am, especially when it comes to vegetables and/or exotic fruits. Also, I love parsnips and he hates them. And he, a sufferer of social anxiety, regards me as being "too paranoid" about certain things like too many people moving around in an uncoordinated fashion in confined spaces. He and I are both high on trait Conscientiousness, but I'll admit that I might take it too far - which would explain why some people say I'm "anal" (if people still use that term in that context). My INFP BFF has been accused of being "pedantic," but I don't get on his case for that because that would make me a hypocrite.

Addendum: He also gets irritated with me whenever I tell him about all the nature-relating things I saw throughout the day. He tells me that he doesn't care about toads, cicadas, or Tiger Swallowtail butterflies, or whatnot, and that he'd be more interested to see a Porsche drive by or something to that effect, further illustrating our "tech guy versus nature guy" dynamic. I got one over on him, though - in a certain sense - because I taught his daughter and his two step-kids to always take notice of the natural world around them. He was an assistant baseball coach for a time and tended to get irritated when the kids would get distracted every time they saw a butterfly flutter by. I told him that was my fault.

I make them change their mind about something and a month later they return to their original position because they can't get Mr. Rational's help to be there for them, during every fucking second of their life.
For example I showed an INFP I know that a certain word doesn't mean anything so why use it, he said OK and admitted I was right. A few days passed and I see him use the word again. "Why, I told you it doesn't even have a meaning". And I didn't even get a fucking explanation instead of "I don't know". Well THAT'S THE PROBLEM! People "don't know" something and make fools out of themselves afterwards! I wonder why?

I had an INFP colleague who, let's just say had an odd sense of humour.. I asked him once what he would do on his off days, and he said, "I would disappear into oblivion.."

    I was like.. WTF!

I couldn't say much because it felt like looking into the mirror and seeing myself in it.

The word is too personal for the INFP I've mentioned so I'm not gonna say it but you get the idea
