    You can say that again.

He clearly meant it as a harmless joke but it felt more like bullying. That said, I don't hate ESTPs, but I avoid some of them.

People are used to hate what they can't have.
Also people hate uniqueness, because it reminds them how common they are

    1. Prejudice. Time to play devils advocate.
Many popular types like xSTPs or ADDers are getting bad rep for certain fearless vibe.
Oddly, other pers types tend to change attitude fast when attacked or their house is burning.
Many xSTPs or ADDers are working with police or emergency units themselves. And do not tend to add work to justice police.

    2. Point nr. 1. is also aprecciated, when is in the air urge to expose pompous stupidity to public attention (politics, science and so forth). Gaining renegade rep? Who cares.

    3. We are not as that "popular". In real life same as in that board. As far as I know, SJ temperaments won the public annoyance award

I would add that, at least for me, I have a hard time conforming to what other people want and feel I should act. So, I would say ESTPs have a hard time conforming. Our free-spirited quality.

Hate me all you want, I've got better things to do than mope on this forum 'cause some biased people seem to enjoy knocking down my type.

I'm pretty sure some people hate ESTPs, but you guys are far from the most hated type.

It's not only the forum, it's the same everywhere. The diffrence is just that, on forum someone write it and everyone can see it. In RL nobody will thell you they hate you, especially none of the pssy types will tell that to estp openly. They will conspire behind your back, though. But i agree with you, who care

also agree that we aren't most hated type but i'd say we're in top 3

People don't need to open their mouth to tell you they hate you, are jealous of you or simply don't wanna be around you.

It's easy to tell what people think of you IRL and I don't waste my time on those who seem to dislike me.

Yes. My female cousin is an ESTP . I always thought of her as a very kind person, in her own matter-of-fact way. Then I heard, some relatives bitching behind her back how bossy, mean, controlling or whatever she is. I was surprised, because I saw none of those qualities in her then I just thought about how they kiss her ass when she's present and are afraid to tell her what they are thinking. And then I figured that they probably behave the same way towards me.

Looks like people think we are more manipulative or calculating than we really are, even those who have never heard of the MBTI. Something about our behavior. I once was with a group "friends", and then someone brought up the question "Which house would you be in if you were in Hogwart?". Somehow, they all immediatly agreed that anything outside of Slytherin would be out of question for me. Now that may seem like a silly example, but still, I was surprised, because I didn't think of myself that way.
