All time favourite video game? Whoah, I am not sure right now. Well, it'd be either one of Assassin's Creed, Portal II or Minecraft. Probably Minecraft, there you can do whatever you want, and so you can recreate things like Assassin's Creed or Portal II (or even combine them :D).

Online games... hmm, I used to play lots of them, now it's not what it used to be. I used to play for example Runescape, WoW on private server, Diablo 3 with trial-thingy card (still haven't killed skeleton king and I don't need to), tried out Aion and sometimes I visit cracked Minecraft servers.
Yep, I haven't bought it yet, but I tried. It was acting weird, it didn't want me to buy it (and I attemped to buy gift code back when it was only 15 €, now it is 20 :/). I definetly want to buy it but I don't know which cards are accepted. And I need to wait some time (less than year) to be 18 and have my own card or PayPal account to do so myself.

    How about you? :)
It definitely is gonna be awesome! I'm still secretly hoping that Lucy is alive somehow *crosses fingers* even though I know she's not :(. I'd also like to see a bit more of Altair and Ezio's respective stories mixed in while still moving forward with the overall story. I really enjoy it when games do things like that!

I've also seen my friends play minecraft a lot and seen some of the things they've made, it looks freaking insane. My friend created a number counter using torches somehow! I don't know why I've never gotten into it. Guess I'm more of a fan of RPG's - speaking of which - ever played any of the Mass Effect series? Mass Effect 2 is hands down my favourite all-time game. Everything about it is just wonderful and I would give anything to live in a universe like that...

I have an old MSN address that I could use if you were interested in doing something like this. Maybe get a few other PerC members in on it for the lulz?

Which games are you really into/playing at the moment then? :D

StElmosDream: There are a lot of big words you used there but luckily I get the jist of what you're saying...

On the other hand I also think acting in accord with the 'masses' and sliding into social norms is fine by me, and comes with its own merrits, so long as you don't lose yourself in the process. At the other extreme I find myself getting annoyed at people who shun social norms and practises simply to be different! Ignorance is bliss, right? A balance needs to be struck for anything to work, and that's no exception here.
Tis true, I am 'guilty' of reading academic texts, intellectual books and deep topics then amalgamating theories or ideas until 5 or more may be be nestled into a single paragraph (Ni and associative thinking at its finest I like to hope)... probably comes with the territory of being a First class honours Computing graduate and preparing for more unrelated courses to study.

I did used to focus a lot more on aligning myself with societal norms or gender behaviours, however over time this in itself became taxing when there comes a point of true honesty and realising that old soul maturity or simply more life experiences, created inner conflict or that sense of unequal minds-difficultly matching lesser emotional intelligences. Often finding I was no closer to achieving true friendships or connections because many just weren't at my level yet or most likely I still haven't met those that are in person, when in many ways UK society is just so far behind on cultural standards or how to suit the more 'reserved' types of people. For example being in a Pub or Bar drinking Tea or Coffee is equated to seriousness or un-approachability or worse 'unpleasant intellectualism' (as if deep meaningful conversation is bad).

    @Kami Gaben

I much prefer 1-1 MSN, when time zone differences tend not to provide much difficulty unless there is more than 9 hours or life commitments to worry about.

    Nope, I haven't played Mass Effect :/
I like RPGs however, I mentioned for example Gothic or TES series (I played them since Morrowind), those were great. What's your favourite genre? My is sandbox :3

Which other sandbox games do you play then? (Apart from Minecraft of course). I guess my favourite genre has to be RPGs. I enjoyed Oblivion and absolutely loved Skyrim. Same with Mass Effect 1-3. Ever played KOTOR? It's probably my second favourite game ever and is also an RPG!

What kinds of fields/genres are you into? What courses do you plan to study next?

As for the part about being true to yourself above everything else, I have a lot of respect for that. I'm also from the UK and see where you're coming from with regards to the un-approachability of non-drinkers in drinking environments. It's sad. If you are unhappy with society and the culture here, have you considered moving abroad?

EDIT: I really like the quote in your signature. It's somewhat fitting to this discussion. Where's it from? o_0

I was hopeful after reading the OP but video games aren't my thing anymore. I haven't even heard of any of the games mentioned thus far besides Assassins Creed (TV ads) and WoW (Japanese people died playing it )

Oh and I'm in the UK and introverted, when in the pub I will have a pint or five but still manage to be unaproachable

Varies, mostly Psychology at the moment although I aim to read probably another 4-10 intellectual (about half psychology based) books by Octobers end. For a few weeks I was reading all things gender and social equality based, namely: male privilege in society, sexisms, feminism (briefly), gender stereotypes, gender crime rates to disprove the male = paedophile notion, gender histories in society, basis of gender roles, gender intelligences, perceptions of the male outsider in society and forum discussions ... all fascinating until oppressions in society became a bit unchangeable past own insights (part of the reason I don't own a TV or watch news coverage).

I do read many things though with introductory existentialism next after the last 100 pages of 'The Outsider' that studies interpretations of the social outcast in literature or biographical formats (ted.com is great for bit sized learning FYI).

An Msc in Psychology is the next goal when I can afford self funding and gain enough experience of working with people with autism (mostly desired) and generalised learning challenges in education. What is your current course of study?

I did consider emigrating once but came to realise that no country is perfect and that I'd need another 1-5 years to retrain then do the same thing again for country-specific equivalence qualifications... although I do oddly seem to know reasonable amounts about the American education systems.

A pint or five?! That's enough to make me feel comfortable talking to just about anyone. Do you have favourite or preferred drink? I tried something called Weston's Perry cider yesterday, t'was deliciously sweet!
