    Bite Your Tongue thread

Do you occasionally, or perhaps often, say things which you wish you could take back immediately after the words fall from your mouth? Have such off-taste remarks led to laughter, embarrassment, or shame?

    I'll start...

Brother's friend admiring our chihuahua and says he had one that recently died. Next sound that fills the room is my question in the form of..."How old was he when he died?" I was just curious because the breed is renowned for its longevity.

Brother had broken up with his girlfriend for second time.. Me: "Which break-up heart more?"

Circling movies I'd seen on my Oscar ballot... Was surrounded by three girls at the time. One goes: "Why are you circling things?" One thing led to another and the conversation quickly comes to my making a Black Swan comment "That girl (Mila Kunis' character) really circled Natalie Portman."

Some years ago, in University, there was this girl who kept staring at me, she wasn't even in the same course, but where-ever I was, there she was with another girl staring at me. I tried to talk to her a couple of times but without success, she was always serious and just staring, and every-time I tried to approach her she just retired. One day I was at the cafeteria and she sited next to me. I looked at her and said: "Hi!". I got no response, that's when I said out loud: "Hey! If you're in a diet, don't look at me like I'm a meat-stake.".

Everybody laughed and she went out almost crying... that made feel bad afterwards, and she never stared again...

A long time ago I blurted out "I love you" at the end of a long phone call with a friend. Talk about awkward pauses. She giggled and said "I love you too!" which made it even worse. -.-

When don't I regret what I say. Actually I'm prone to regret not saying things. When i was younger I had a tendency to go on and on about things that interested me only later realizing that other people weren't as enthusiastic about such things as I was.

LOL no. I just... really liked her that much. But it felt awkward to admit it.

I've already mentioned this in another thread but it's perfectly applicable here:

I was in a holiday program when I was around 9-10 years old (I think ...) and this littler kid came up to me and asked me how to spell six. I replied S-E-X. I realized afterwards and was mortified haha.

Fuck. Just shared last night's dream with someone that was in it...and it's way too much considering where our relationship is. *bolts/welds/nails filter back on*

Some weeks ago, during lunch at my job, we were talking about a Portuguese male model who killed an old journalist at a New York's Hotel, and mutilated his genitals. During the conversation someone said: "I bet there will be a movie about this". That's when I started laughing and said: "Yeah! I can already picture a 3D movie with the nuts flying in my direction...".

Weird silence, strange faces, and I kept on laughing... ooops! Did it again :|
