    what is your greatest desire?

It can be anything, just spill your thoughts and feelings all over this thread. I thought it'd be nice to have an uplifting thread. =]

Personally mine is to be a successful individual in a career field where there is high stress, and life and death decisions. I want those ultimatums, limited time to make the right choice. Because for some reason, I feel like I know I would do the right thing. I want to travel the world, I want to experience all the different cultures in Europe, and Asia. I don't want a place to call home, I want to be on the move constantly. And I want to fall in love somewhere down the line and have a family.. but my career seems to be.. more important right now. I want to furfil my sense of duty of making a difference in this world, or impact.

I used to want to get a good career and be wealthy, and I still want that to a degree. Later I have realised that I would rather just be 'free'. I hate the thought of going to work every single day for 40+ years, I don't think I could do it. I want to do what I want when I want. I would rather be poor, free and happy than rich, sad and a slave... Unfortunately I don't think being completely free is possible in the world we live in today. I will have to find something in between. I am going to study at a university, I want the knowledge, I want to get smarter, and this expands my options in the way of jobs and careers obviously. So If I'm lucky I will find a career that I can truly enjoy and be happy with, which is my greatest desire.

Like Kuja said, I used to want to have a good career with a high-paying salary. Lately, however, I have realized that I do not want to spend 8+ hours per day sitting in an office. I would much rather be free, and do something I really enjoy, even if I only make $40k/year.

If at all possible, I'd make a career out of storm chasing (my specialty being hurricanes). I'd also like to open my own little business someday so that I could teach scuba diving and whatnot.

I want to travel the world. This sounds a bit cliche, but I bet the first place on my list isn't very high on most other peoples lists: Antarctica.

And like you, SeekJess, I don't want a place to call home either; I also want to be on the move constantly.

I really don't see myself ever getting married or having kids. But you never know what the future can bring, I suppose. If it comes down to me having kids, I'd much rather adopt a couple of twelve year olds. I'm not one to take care of babies...
