Answering a question with a condescending question (yes you N types!)

I cant tell you how many times i ask a valid question and get the dead eyes and a condescending question in return. My INFJ sister is good at this and my INTP brother does it but less often. I would understand it more if the question was stupid... like if the answer to my question was obvious, but its not. I asked my sister "Are you going to ____ ?" and instead of responding "no" or "yes" I get "why would i go?" as if i need to provide her with a valid reason to do so. I could care less if she goes to be honest, just wanted to know so we could carpool or something.

So my question is do you do this? Why do you do this? How can i make you STOP doing this?

Why should I stop doing anything?

I probably do do this more often than not, but even so I know to whom I am doing it to, I wouldn't try to pass it off in a business or professional level, but where things are not as shallow, and seriousness is not a must, I think I do take liberties with it. It doesn't mean I'm not aware of what you are bringing out, though, and I probably should check myself more often and start getting down to it and just say yes or no on most instances, but I do admit that I tend to be more on the "cheeky" side, if you will.

By the way, I wanted to mention, that I just today noticed that your avi has a sloth in it, in previous times I just unawarely saw it as a fur coat or the rest of the hair or something, but I glanced by it today - paused, took another look, and spotted the sloth, I felt quite embarassed to have missed it all this time, particularly since I usually notice things like that, and am better aware of details.

I do sometimes... But it's more an individual's mannerism than anything else, I think. I should observe people closely and see if the Ns do that more...

Because all of us N's are douchebags:)

Okay, I don't know. But that's a good place to start.

Sounds like your sister thought you should have intuitively known she wouldn't have gone wherever it is you're speaking of.

It annoys me when people who have known me for years don't figure these kinds of things out on their own. You know I'm this kind of person or that kind of person. Put 2 and 2 together, guys. Think.

This is most likely Ti rather than an N function. You have Ti as an ISFJ but may be inclined to ask more literal questions of concern with Si/Fe.

Ti combined with an N function can be a real pest sometimes, trying to be very existential about everything and picking everything apart without being at all practical or functional.

Also, sometimes unhealthy Ni doms expect you to read their mind.

I think anybody can be a smartass, and if you don't have a very peaceful relationship with your sister, this could be a contributing reason outside of function usage.

Comically, the bolded is your Fi/Si and has nothing to do with N. "You know I'm this kind of person or that kind of person." Pure comedy. Almost ISJ-ish.

but thats a ridiculous assumption, that i would just know... especially with her because shes so unique she hates this or likes that and is very difficult to pigeon hole. So rather than assume i ask. But i dont need to get the 3rd degree or have someone assume that im "not thinking"!
