    I'm kinda annoyed when they don't look eccentric.

    Stereotypes seem to be prejudices. So a "positive stereotype" is a prejudice working in your favor? It's a way of being given credit for something you don't deserve.
    If you do deserve it, you shouldn't need the stereotype to get you the credit.
