How do you feel about those born in the 80s being mostly their 30s or late 20s now

I look down at someone born in 2002 being a teenager and it baffles me how long time has passed. I remember 2002 like yesterday and now they are nearing 20 years old. I was curious is it weird to you that people born in the 80s are 30s/late 20s? Do the 80s feel that long to you? My mom is a Generation Jones(Late Baby Boomer) and it is also weird to her that people born in the 70s are mostly in their 40s now.

It does feel really strange... Like I was working with a couple of 24-year-olds recently and I mentioned Team America, and they hadn't heard of it... I explained it made fun of Bush during his reelection and one of them asked me if I meant Bush Sr. or Jr. ...It just amazes me, like I've been through this stuff in pop culture that other adults haven't because they were too young. I mean they're very intelligent, they're just young. But it's just like you said...all that stuff feels like it was yesterday, I remember being convinced to watch Team America when it came out for example heh.

80s feels like ancient to me.

Yeah, the 80s does feel that long ago to me. 2002, on the other hand, doesn't feel hugely different to now (especially when compared with 1987) in terms of music and what people wore. It was probably marginally more like the 90s than today, but still closer to now than the 80s.

I agree though that it's a little weird that people who were my age when I was born are now as old as my mum was when she had me, especially given that teenagers don't dress hugely different now to 17 years ago but very differently to 34 years ago.

I talked to a 12-year-old about Gorillaz and he said he had not heard about it. I was surprised because they had recently released a new album in January.
In terms of fashion. No drastic changes have happened since I left high school in 2006.

Meh. I stopped paying attention when one of my coworkers mentioned they were born in late 90's. My brain can't compute that age gap.
