I'm a painter. I like to paint landscapes on pretty much anything. The classic canvas being my favorite. Are there any other Gen X-ers that like to paint or have other interesting hobbies? Make me curious!

    Welcome to Personality Cafe!
I'm a painter, too, @jubilee_xo I love watercolor and I am starting to learn how to paint with oils. My avatar is one of my watercolor paintings.
What are your favorite mediums for painting?
There is a art museum forum and a share your artwork thread, where people post pictures of their artwork, which includes just about every medium possible. You are definitely welcome and encouraged to post pictures of your paintings there. I would very much like to see them!

I love oils and acrylics. I use acrylics more because they are easier to paint with and dry faster. I very rarely paint with water colors. I would be happy to share my artwork!

I'm looking forward to seeing it.
Do you like realism or do you prefer something more abstract or somewhere in between?
For me, I think that it's somewhere in between.
I like to use acrylics on surfaces, other than paper or canvas. I'll paint on just about any surface, including rocks, wood, fabric, and glass.
Here are some photographs. I hope that you like my creations!!!

It is definitely Realism for me! And I love landscapes. I could not view your artwork for some reason probably technical. I will attach one of mine and hopefully you can see it. The name of my painting is "Cabin by the lake". I painted this one three years ago. I love old barns and cabins!

Unfortunately, it didn't work. Maybe something technical.

Well, the kids are off to Discord, FPS, and memes, so here I am hanging out with people my own age. Here's a repost from another thread about my interests...

Saving the world. Psychology. Deconstructing religion. Cats. Learning, modifying, designing, and performing magic. Juggling. Composing music. Writing and singing lyrics. Performing, recording, and editing music. Writing screenplays and drawing storyboards. Shooting and editing video (I used to work with film). Making art in many forms. Designing and building papercraft. Making costumes. Collecting, constructing, and playing board, dice, and card games. Rewriting rules. Reading about, designing, and making crafts. Designing paper airplanes.

Here's something I made that demonstrates the diversity of my interests.

Those aren't all of my interests. Some interests have fallen away. I was employed as a 3D modeler and animator in the 80's. I recently got heavily into Blender and Unreal for a few months. I liked the quality of the results, but it didn't feel rewarding.
