Edward Cullen is for the next generation. I refuse to acknowlege my step-daughters trendy obsessions as something a part of my own generation...besides, it came out within the past few years. Gen Y cuts off at 1994.

Um...remember slap braclets? Those were the coolest things since sliced bread.

Personally, I only like 2 or 3 of these trends. I'm starting to think of a new theory that runs on the generation in which you were a teenager instead of when you were born. My personal belief is your generation doesn't truly begin until you're 13, because before that your actions are really restricted. 13 is when your real opinions start coming through. Though some of us are never really restricted (me) due to home issues, non-restrictive parents, etc.

Wow, I thought it was a card game. I'd rather play Dungeons and Dragons than that game. I now feel ashamed at my generation for creating something so stupid. I will be post generation Y now.

While I realize it isn't a purely Gen Y creation, the gigantic growth in popularity is certainly Gen Y for LotR:

And, of course, Mighty Beanz:

I actually still have, like, twenty of them up in my room. Including, if I remember correctly, a couple of the rarer ones.

IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE ONE OF THESE YOU WERE CONSIDERED A LOSER. *snort*

Along with other good Disney shows...back when there were actually good Disney shows...*cough*

I still have a ton of these hanging around my room. Probably around 70.

I love GTA

To go back to my childhood, here's what's Generation Y to me at least.

^Chevron Cars

Technology Wise

^I always bankrupted my cities.

Now I miss being a kid, it seems like we are the generation that bridged the gap between the generation with no Internet (X), and the generation who are given portable Internet devices at the age of five (Gen. Z, or whatever it's called). I'd now like to go back in time one day and just watch TV with my five year old self.

Ha, I've heard it called the iGen and the internet generation. Seems to me better names than Gen Z.
My children are a part of this generation...one of them picked up a cassette tape the other day and frowned, puzzled...asked me what it was. Of course then I had to tell them about records too.

I just thought about this. Since we are all looking back on being small children, all of us may like this (link). The Nostalgia Critic's actual name is Doug Walker, born in either 1981 or 1982 (I don't remember which year), so he is mainly early Generation Y. He's funny, and he might bring back some memories of TV shows or movies that came out for kids in the eighties through late nineties. Enjoy!
