I don't agree with that. Most people my age (born in 1999) grew up with the Playstation 2, rather than the PS3.

So you were still playing PS2 in 2007-2009? That I understand.

The 7th gen fully started in late 2006 when all consoles were out the door, C/O 2016ers childhood peaked that year.

The PS2 was a very popular game console that had good third party support longer than the GameCube and Xbox did, and I'm pretty sure you had some games on the PS2 that were also on the Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360. That was not the case with the competition, the GameCube was discontinued in March 2007 and the Xbox was discontinued a year after that.

Personally, I've recently been having raging nostalgia for this gaming era, I re-bought some of childhood Wii games, Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Paper Mario, Sonic Colors, Sonic and the Secret Rings, and Wii Play.

I got my DS when I was 10 years old. I remember playing games like Sonic Rush and Pokemon diamond, Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings etc in elementary school so yeah I consider the DS part of my childhood. I didn't get a Wii until 2008 for my 12th birthday, but that and the rest of gen 7 consoles were out since I was 9/10 so they could've been apart of my childhood had I gotten them sooner.
    Tim thanked this post.
