Disclaimer: This is NOT a thread to debate where a generation starts and ends, we have too many of those shitty threads already on this site, we don't need more. For the sake of this page, we're using McCrindle's fifteen year theory; 1965-1979 are X, 1980-1994 are Y, 1995-2009 are Z, 2010-2024 are Alpha, 2025-2039 are Beta.

For those of you in early Gen Z (1995-1999), do you plan on your first kid being an Alpha (2010-2024) or a Beta (2025-2039)?
Do you plan on having kids in your early-mid 20s or on waiting until around 30 to have them? I'm curious to know, let me know in the comment section.

As for me, I was born December 1997, and plan on my first kid being an early Beta. I want to wait until 27-30 before having my first kid.

I was born in June 1997 and would want to have two Alpha kids! I wish to be a young mother, maybe 22-25 years old so I can study while being a stay-at-home mom and then after the kids have grown a bit it's easier to work in the fields I aim for. Most companies here don't like hiring young women without kids so hopefully I can avoid that time.

Probably early Gen Beta...
Anywhere from ages 27-33 is ideal for having kids I guess. Anything sooner feels too early and anything later can get more risky health-wise and I also don't want a big age gap to the point where we don't understand eachother

I was born 1998. I'm extremely childish and have no intentions of growing up any time soon. I'm enjoying my hobbies and my art course way too much to bother with going out, meeting new people or entering romantic relationships.

I'm just going to continue with college and focus on my hobbies for now. I have this ideal in my head that I'll just stumble upon someone probably when I'm in my late 20s. I've no doubt in my mind that if I do end up with someone and have kids, I'll be raising Beta children XD

I completely understand picking an age that you yourself would want to rear a child. But I'm wondering about the generational question here...is it of any real importance? As in, would you choose to have kids earlier exclusively so they would fit into a generation?

Otherwise...I would think this question should only revolve around which age YOU want to have kids.

Disclosure: Gen Y ('85). Don't care if I have Alpha or Beta kids, or maybe none at all. Depends on the breeding stock available.

Oh boy finally someone sees the light :D

Yeah I love the comment section on this forum.

Uhh definitely "beta" or later, I am not confident in my ability to raise someone at any acceptable level of competency.

The common story about women is that the "biological clock" really starts to take over in the late 20s, early 30s so if you take that into account you can roughly estimate the generation another generation will raise. It checks out, with 15 year intervals youd have to be in the medieval or prehistoric times for the "generations" to consecutively and in this thread at least everyone is voting "beta" except for the stray millenials.

On a side note, there is bound to be so much silly tensions and flame wars when "alpha" and "beta" reach sentience over who is more alpha or beta :D Looking forward to that garbage fire.

I know I'm out of your cut-off for one year, but I definitely would raise my children on mid Beta.

The funny point here is that by the moment I wouldn't really like to have children XD, and I have serious reasons to do that. Maybe I'll change my opinion, but that idea is obnoxious to me. A psycho would say I have a few traumas, but I don't deny it.

I totally agree with you. I would only have children if I were sure I'm materially and experientally rich enough.
One of the reasons why I'm not sure about having kids is that for me is not something to take lightly, like something more to do in your life, at the end of the day raising a child is raising a life project, so it's something I have to think over deeply.

Alpha. I love kids and as long as I have the ability to care properly for them I want them as soon as I can ;) Maybe after a year or two of enjoying life out of college, not sure on that one yet.

I was born in 1996, so I'm an older Gen Z kiddo. The fact that I'm Roman Catholic and the oldest of four may also play a part in why I want so many kids, but I wanted kids even when I was a kid myself. I just really love taking care of little animals and people.

Absolutely beta.
I'll be 30 by April 2027, and absolutely do not want any kids before that; that is, if I even choose to have kids.

From the looks of it, I won't have my shit together for a very long time so kids are totally out of the question for now and I don't even know if I would want them in the first place.
To add to this, I am 99% sure I don't want biological kids either.

Born in 1998, hope to have a Gen Beta child someday (with or without a partner)
Let’s not start already too many 00s born arguing with 90s babies also this thread is 2 years old and inaccurate in 2018

Whatever happen to young adults being mature instead of arguing with a bunch of middle schoolers/High Schoolers? You’re influencing us to do what you guys do since that the age child grow up in their childhood
