Does anyone have experience with the ketogenic diet (and entering ketosis in particular) who can give me some advice? I've been trying for almost a week, but I don't feel like I've entered ketosis yet.
If anyone sees my question and doesn't know the answer, but wants to know, feel free to post quote me. Maybe I'll figure it out soon...
Does anyone here know anything about sun-exposure/tanning?
I am confused, as oddly enough I do not burn very easily, and usually my skin just tans, but yet I have heard that any sun exposure is bad, but then it almost sounded like if you are just fair-skinned?
I have light olive skin, but when it's warmer and sunny my skin turns brown. Even if I don't go outside a lot. But the thing is I like the sun...? also I have heard many times that sun screen is toxic...? is that true?
Our bodies produce melamine, which darkens the skin, as a result of the initiation of cell and DNA damage from the sun's light. So, tanning is essentially a defense of our skin to damage. Fair skinned people produce melamine less quickly, and perhaps not as efficiently, which makes them burn more easily. So of course it's even worse for them. Some sun screens have toxic ingredients but I don't think most of them use that anymore.
I came across this buzzfeed article which sums it up nicely http://www.buzzfeed.com/virginiahugh...ths#.vy9O9O1qn
