    So. When're ya getting a boat?

    I took 3 yrs on my first... the rest have come a little quicker, but still nothing spur of the moment. I find it baffling when people just grab any other piece of off the wall flash and permanently afix it to their body. That's a very odd thing to do, I think.

    Well. Made the last of the pool night's for the year worth it. Think I rolled into RN's around... 1130p and finally left at 0230. Had a great time. We went swimming and lounging in the pool (after I cleaned it, of course. Never put a swimming pool under trees. Yeah, the shades nice. Having to remove all the leaves, branches, acrons and other debris is not, however.)

    Took a while to clean it as it has been windy for the past couple of days... so there were tons of leaves and acorns in the pool. Did get it all cleaned up. Did get in... and it felt so good cuz it was so fucking hot yesterday!

    Drinking Coronas... made kabobs for chow, which were... Oh. My. God. delicious. Sat around and bs'd and generall had a good time. In the wee'r morning hours we had a blanket on the ground near the pool. Had the tiki lanterns burning. Had cold beer... 'twas really nice. Did a little bump and grind to some Marvin Gaye that was playing on her iPhone. 'Twas a good time.

    I dozed off for a bit... then got up and got in the pool again. But... eventually, all I could do was yawn so it was time to call it a night as I still had a good bit of a drive ahead of me to get home.

    So... it's back to work tonight. I should be off tonight since it's a holiday, but between administration and the union? Can't do that anymore. Fucking sucks. I think I'm going to put in for the holiday on Veteran's Day and let the union grieve it when admin marks it as vacation time instead of holiday time... see where it goes. Somebody's gotta do it... and I want my fucking holidays off.

    I suspect they will lose the grievance, though... which is why I'm quite annoyed that the union didn't do the simple and easy thing of tweaking the language so as to prevent admin from pulling this nonsense. Would've probably taken... less than 5 mins. But... they didn't do that. I have no idea why cuz everyone was pissed about it... but yeah. $$$$$$$$$$$. Let's get yet another raise and don't worry about anything else. (Basically)

    My nephew's Snapchatting me... it's pouring rain and hailing at his house. He was sending video of the neighbor's car... a convertible... with the top down, taking on all this rain. He said this neighbor is a huge asshole and so, he finds all of this quite amusing. Nature's karma, I guess.

    Tonight is the return to work, as I said. Going to remember to bring my notes today and start writing. Or sorting out where I'm going with it at least. Making the notes a little more formatted and legible and developing a story board for what I have now. Which... the notes kinda are the story board, but whatever. Going to get it all set up so it make sense. The opening bit is already playing in my head and has been since last week. I think I have 10 or 12 missions that I can write about... but obviously, if nothing significant happened in the mission, it'll just be mentioned in passing...

    Sorta need to remember the notes, though. Sorta didn't last week... and then I was so disappointed.

    And... just need to get through the week, right? Four nights after tonight... yes, I am counting. Have no plans for next weekend, yet and well... I just need to get there and we'll sort out the other stuff when the time comes.

    No Sam tonight, so that always makes the night a little more enjoyable. Although Robby said he'd noticed a change in Sam... that he doesn't seem quite so fucking uptight about every little nonsensicle thing. I dunno, though. It's true he's not harassed me about a single thing since he returned from his near death experience... but that doesn't mean he won't or that he's necessarily changed.

    He's still lying to people as Alex (quite loudly) pointed out last week... so he's not changed that much.

    And it's still much nicer there when he's not there. So... I vote for him not being there.

    Well... suppose I should go make some further progress on my laundry. I do have a pile and I only just got the first load stuck in the washer. Probably outta get after that so I don't have to wear a wet uni shirt to work.

    Kind of neat that this is the eighth or ninth time I've heard that someone got cracked open for heart bypasses and came out of the whole thing with a profound change in personality.

    They weren't from a 'reawakening' or a wake-up call on a second chance in life, but more from something physical that put the brain in reset mode.

    One couple I knew got divorced a year after the surgery because the wife didn't recognize the husband as remotely the same person after they cracked and snipped him on the operating table.

    All we need now is for Sam to have a 'moment of clarity', evaluate his path in life, and quit the system to go work for McDonalds serving breakfasts.

    Kind of like "American Beauty" without any of the intelligence.

    2000 page hype! Woo! Woo! Woo!

    Just want to thank you guys for making this happen. After stealing the idea for this thread from some other guys (I don't remember their type off the top of my head) You all could've let this die, but no. Instead you helped it grow, and I hope that you guys grew with it!

    On a more random topic, all I have to say in my drunken state is this: I know why the world is the way it is. It's because of a handful of people who at first seem greedy (because they are), but are trying to use that greed to control everything because they in their own lives had no sense of it. They were abused or ignored, and so had no choice but to choose the path of sociopathic tendency as a defensive mechanism and, now, as a means to control everything and everyone around them to keep some sort of order. But, as the millenials begin to surface in the world, myself included as I was born in 1994, I hope that this old wave passes and that we begin to grow. May we change the way of things from an ignorant bottom-line, psychology used for business point of view to one where we nurture those who need it while simply caring for something beyond ourselves. If we refuse to do so, and keep with the mindset those who are in control (meaning this whole bullshit "think only for yourself" mindset) as is what the sociopaths wish us to believe, the world will either end in fire or bloodshed. It's your choice. No, it's OUR choice: Behave all together responsibly as one, end in the blaze of the sun's light and truth, or end with WWIII. We will either band together to learn from our mistakes, let the charade continue until the sun scorches the earth as we continue to ignorantly decimate it, or let the charade continue to a point where life itself becomes so hard to sustain and we must fight one another.

    It's your choice: Peace, or annihilation.

    My last message for tonight: If you need proof, observe with eyes not blinded by the mind. Do so, as it will not matter if you look with logic or with the heart, the answers will come to those who seek it. However, be warned: peace comes to those who can accept while, if you do as I said above, you choose to be a warrior. In doing so you will be like me, and peace will never come. Once you become a warrior, you can never turn back.

    Let the sound of silence guide you, for that is where the truth lies.
    Copper North thanked this post.

    Been doing a lot of bed resting the last few days. I've somehow acquired stronger dizziness to add to my normal dizziness. This stronger kind happens with about 99% of my head movement and if I'm out of bed for too long. It's like a sudden "explosion" of dizziness. Only way to describe it. I've kind of accepted I'm probably going to end up in the hospital again this week. So what else do you do in bed when you can't sleep? You watch loads of shite on Netflix! So here it is, the first installment of Jeb's Bedridden Netflix Shite Reviews!

    Zoolander:

    Was alright. Found myself getting bored a lot. Probably because it was one of those movies I've seen the start of it 100's of times but never finished it. And I generally dislike movies where the "joke" is a character who is a complete idiot. Natural stupidity is okay, but this is advanced stupidity.

    Beverly Hills Cop:

    Jaysus... Apparently these movies are supposed to be funny? So fucking slow. Started playing games on my phone because I got so bored. Just listened to it as background noise. Not sure if I even want to brave watching the second one.

    It's All Gone Pete Tong:

    Story of a mental case DJ who drinks and does coke a lot. Goes deaf and has a breakdown because it ruins his career. A lot more to this but I won't spoil it. Had some pretty good shots. Can't really think of anything that made it "amazing" but I'd watch it again. I'd definitely pick it over Beverly Hills Cop!

    Fast Times at Ridgemont High:

    Not what I was expecting at all. Expected a typical "yeah man everything is great and rad" type of movie but this had some serious shit in it! A 15-year-old girl pretends to be 19 so the 26-year-old she's dating will have sex with her! Among other crazy things! Not sure why Sean Penn is on all the covers for this movie because in my opinion, he's doesn't "make" this movie. Shows some controversial situations a teenager might find themselves in. Would definitely recommend.

    Spike Island:

    Set in Manchester in 1990. Tells the story of a group of friends who are desperate to get tickets to a Stone Roses concert. Has Emilia Clarke (dragon woman from Game of Thrones) in it. She plays a secondary school student. Pulls it off pretty well considering I assumed she was in her 30's. Pretty good visuals and soundtrack. Very feel-good type of movie. Main character's nickname is "Tits" which I found hilarious. If you like the Stone Roses, definitely check it out. American lads, I wouldn't recommend it. If I had trouble with the accent I imagine some of you guys will too.

    Prison Break (TV series):

    Finished up the first season of this show. When I first got Netflix it was one of the first things I started watching. Had it unfinished for ages. Decided to finally end it and never watch any of it again. So I did. And I noticed a pattern, and got sick of the pattern.

    (Start of episode)

    "We all good for the escape?"
    "We're good."

    (5 minutes later)

    "Oh no. Looks like we're almost about to get caught!"
    "I'll think of something to get us out of this before the episode ends."

    (whole episode solving problem. Problem solved just in time for the end of the episode)

    "I'm sure glad we sorted that problem!"
    "Me too!"
    "Oh no! Another problem!!"

    (episode end)

    It's like that for pretty much every episode. So I got to the end of the series to see them escape and... It ended on a fucking cliffhanger. The worst thing about it is I know I'm going to watch the second season at some point. And there's another 2 seasons after this one. And apparently it's being brought back! I recommend avoiding it if you can. The only reason I finished it was for closure. To finish my PRISON SENTENCE if you will!!!

    More reviews next week. Stay tuned.

    Dude! Sorry you're unwell again. That sucks. Hope you are able to get some answers and soon. Does all that dizziness nonsense make you feel barfy? Cuz if I were that dizzy, I'd be blowing chunks all about the place.

    Zoolander:
    Ben Stiller. So... no.

    Beverly Hills Cop:
    Saw it in the theatre when it came out. It amused me at the time. Haven't seen it since and doubt I'd be able to sit through it now.

    Fast Times at Ridgemont High:
    This was a good movie... came out my senior year of high school. (or maybe the summer after, can't remember) Some of that shit was pretty intense for comedy, eh?

    Spike Island:
    Sounds interesting... may check this out.

    Prison Break (TV series):
    Just... no.

    I'll send a crew out. I don't do the ocean.
    Ah, yes. I forgot about your ocean issues.

    ~~~
    Spent most of my shift with a newbie... Analucia... she's been around a couple years as a part timer but is now full time and working on my shift and... there wasn't much for her to last night, so she hung out with me. We chatted the entire first bit of the night away... from walking onto the unit, until my first break and that shit went fast. (Yay!)
    Didn't talk to her as much after that, but she was still on my unit. Was there for most of the shift, actually. She watched tv and a movie whilst I sat at my desk and wrote. She did help with my rounds, too, which is cool. Made the entire night go by so damn fast... they should all be that fast, honestly.
    In talking with her, it came to light that admin is giving her/promising her all manner of things. I told her that they'll be expecting repayment for those favors sooner or later and that the people cutting her all these deals and making all these promises are not very nice people. In fact, I think I used the words evil, hateful and spiteful to describe them because it's the truth.
    She said I wasn't the only person who had told her that. In fact, many people had told her the exact same thing.
    She: I've heard this from so many other people. Not one or two or three others, but many, many others.
    Me: Because it's true. Some would say not to listen to us because we're just old, grumpy, disgruntled employees... but I have to tell you this, there is no benefit for me in telling you this. I don't care what happens to you because I don't know you very well...
    She: Right...
    Me: What happens to you does not effect me. I have no motivation to lie or feed you misinformation. I just think it's only right to give someone fair warning. I've done that. Do what you will with it.
    She: Right. I'm just afraid that what they want in return will be for me to give them information from this side.
    Me: I'd not be surprised. They have a few that do exactly that.
    She: Really?
    Me: Really.
    She: I hope they don't put me in an uncomfortable positions.
    Me: Me, too.
    So, yeah. Interesting chat, that.
    Interesting chats pass time. Passing time is excellent.
    And then, as I said... I wrote a bit after that. Not much cuz I spent all that time chatting and then I had to organize some things before I could start and so... I basically ran outta time. I did write 3 or 4 pages to kick things off, though. We'll see how long it takes for me to get bored with the entire concept and move along to something else. Or maybe I won't. Hard to say.
    But I have no doubt that I'll switch back and forth from work bit of writing to the other.
    I will also say that driving home in the morning, on a holiday, is nice. Not a bit of traffic. Not even in downtown. Skipped right through and was outta the city in no time. Forgot how that was to get home in record time. Hasn't happened since I stopped working weekends back in the day.
    This time next week, I bid shift which means I can't go to bed until after noon... which sucks balls as I'll be tired as fuck. Hate all this bullshit, but it's a necessity. Just waiting to see whether I will get bumped or not. With so many people getting fucked because of admin's nonsense, it's not at all outside the realm of possibilities.
    I'll be exceptionally annoyed if that happens. I'll be exceptionally lucky if it doesn't.
    So many people are going to get bumped this go 'round, it isn't even funny. If I come out of it unscathed, call the Pope, cuz it'll be a fucking miracle. (And who wouldn't want a St. War, after all? )
    Ah well. C'est la vie, no?
    Jebediah thanked this post.
    It's not room-spinning dizziness it's more like "I'm going to fall over, I need to lie down" type of dizziness. Just hope it doesn't lead to another needle in the spine. :P
