    Anyone like (love?) their job? What do you do?

    I've been quite sick the past few days, and now that I'm finally almost better, the blues have hit and I've realized that I'm not very satisfied with my life right now. I feel like I do absolutely nothing worthwhile, and it bothers me. I am considering scoping out jobs, but I'd want something that doesn't suck for an introvert

    Anyone love what they do? I'd like to hear what kind of job you have & what you like about it.

    Thanks

    I like my job, I work in IT, technical support and system administration, but I would love to actually write something and become a writer.

    I'm just a high school student with a part time job, but I really like it. I work as a page at the public library. Basically, I shelf books for hours. It's very peaceful and therapeutic, and I stumble across a lot of very interesting books.

    I had a dream last night that I was offered a job in a huge beautiful library (compared to the small one that I work in). And I woke up realizing that I wouldn't want to accept that job, because even in the few months that I've been working here, I have become part of a weird little family. Between the other employees and the reoccuring costumers, I feel sort of at home in our shabby little library. And even though the job gets monotonous, it's 1000x better than any other part time job I could find.

    I wouldn't want to do this for the rest of my life, but it's certainly something that I'm thankful for as a teenager.
    And it helps that I'm doing something that I believe in - giving the community a free resource center for art and education. Books are so incredibly beautiful.

    I work as a therapist for autistic children and I absolutely love it! I just started and I'm still doing training but it is so so rewarding when you see the kids make progress... I love it :) I definitely recommend it for my fellow INFPs!

    Do the thing you are most passionate about, the thing you would do without anyone telling you, the thing you would do even if you don't get paid to do it. For me, it's in the creative industry and I am always grateful that I love what I do and get paid for it.

    I hug babies for money.

    Only for two hours a week though. Not exactly a career.

    (I'm sort of a substitute kid-watcher at a church, so once a week I go in and watch little kids for a couple hours while their moms attend some sort of group activity together. Kinda like a large scale babysitting operation I guess.)

    I've been working on an organic farm since January doing field work, prepping veggies for pickup, managing volunteers. Overall, I love it. It involves some pressure, deadlines, and working with people, mixed with quiet zen time (weeding, mulching, planting). I didn't have any farming background, but started volunteering there on Saturdays a few years ago, and it was the highlight of my week.

    I've actually looked into doing this with @JerseyDevil since there are some farms that exchange labor for food and board. Maybe eventually we'll end up doing something like that. Spending lots of time with carrots and cabbage does seem pretty zen, plus I bet the physical work is pretty nice, yeah?

    @ObLaDiObLaDa I'm right there with you on creative endeavors. My boyfriend also suggested that I pursue them more. I would like a tad bit of income though, so I have to work on improving my skills and perhaps in the meantime find a job that pays and allows me to have a sparse schedule.... What do you do, by the way?

    @Confounded , I've always thought about working in a library. I'm just afraid I'd never leave ;)
