Hello! I need a little advice on something.
I'm going on a little "camping" trip ( I say camping yet we are staying in a cabin with air conditioning ;) ) next week for a few days.
The thing is, on these camping trips, we stay out late, watch the sunsets and play in the lake, etc.
Now, here's my issue. Sunsets make me extremely depressed. From about 1 pm all the way until the sun sets at 8 pm, it makes my mood really really bad. I don't show it, but I just want to go inside and lock myself in a dark room with a lamp on and distract myself.
I remember last time we went, my uncle took us out on his boat, we went way far out in the lake and watched the sunset. I was having fun, but then all of a sudden, this heavy wave of deep sadness just hits me.
I've tried distracting myself during one of those times. We went tubing on the boat, which with what we were doing, requires concentration, so I was distracted, but just the time made me very stressed and deeply troubled.
I also notice that in these moments, I stress more about my future and all of my responsibilities. I mean, I do it all the time, but it gets worse in the afternoon.
Is there anything I can do to stop feeling this way, and just enjoy myself? This is my first and last vacation before school starts and I would really like to have a good time without being stressed.
