Is Pam Beesly really INFP? (Character from "The Office - US")

    Hi guys.

So I've been on PerC forum for a couple of days now and I wanted to start this very first thread about something that caught my interest--

Pam Beesly and her personality type.

Sure, she's artistic and girl-next-door kind of person. I always thought there was something about her.

Most articles apparently suggest that her MBTI type is INFP (source).

But after watching this video documenting and citing Pam's personality and development over the course of years (yes, it is a fake show but gotta admit, her character, it's very realistic), and she sounds more ISFP or something else? (Video below)

What's your take? Do you relate to Pam as INFP, or do you think her down-to-earth and apathy, as well as inclination to "normalcy" makes the deviation to another personality type, and if so, which type? Also, if it interested you, what do you think about other characters' personalities and types (from this show)?

Thanks much! Have a great day!

    INFP

    Hi Angel Cat!

I always saw Pam as INFJ, She sooooooooooooo "protects" Michael Scott. Here is a site that I think has many of them right: source

They have Jim as ENTP but I always saw him as ENFP.

They have Holly as INFP -- hey I can sort of see it! :-)

Michael Scott is just messed up... lol.... don't know his type, better not say.

Just my guesses, I could be so wrong. I'm a lover of dichotomies, not function stacks. Like, I could see myself testing INFJ if I had clicked on more J answers than P answers. I always bump heads with the function stack peoples.

    Hope you get more answers!

Yas! Thank you, will check out these links.

Hmm, yeah, Jim Halpert didn't seem like the introvert type at all. Makes sense if he is extrovert, but I don't really think ENFP, maybe ENFJ?

I have a little doubt about Pam being INFJ although I can see how she is constantly showing that side of her caring about other people whereas an INFP would do things primarily for the person of self--like helping others to makes us feel good, while INFJs feel good when other people are having a good time (can't say I'm explaining very well).

Also, INFJs are better at achievements and making a goal--the part where Pam did not pursue her artistic side kinda relates to INFP, but not too much as she's not really voicing out her discontent at her job in the beginning, but then also she's so concerned about others, people she cares for in a way that might be described as SF trait.

    But maybe that's just me.

Holly is definitely INFP, yes. I can see that!

    INFP

I thought Pam was ISFJ, but after watching a best of video on her she's got some INFP awkwardness to her for sure. She seems type 9 or 6.

Lol, love Pam. I think definitely ISFP with INFJ influence for sure. Though maybe that is just the actress to me, since of course I'm not sure if a fictional character can have an MBTI type.
