    Eyes question

In some pictures, my eyes look bright and sparkly and have a "come hither" look (unintentional), even in selfies.

In some pictures, I look half asleep or unfocused and my eyes are darker.

Why the difference? My eye color does tend to change during the day, depending upon mood. They're generally blue-ish gray. Yes, it's probably me overthinking things but I'm curious.

I've noticed that for myself, how I perceive my eyes can make them appear to be bright and sparkly or dull and empty if that makes any sense. Could be mood, lighting, or even what you want to see possibly?

Hopefully this helps in some way.

That makes sense. What's odd is that I can take a picture one minute and my eyes are sparkly/"come & get me" like and the next minute (literally) they look like I'm all dreamy or something that I can't put into words. Vulnerable perhaps.

It's purely unintentional and I have the same thoughts in both pictures. All my life they've tended to change color, from light blue to dark blue to a grayish color. They're my favorite feature, to be honest.

This thread is worthless without pics.

I'd post pics of my eyes, but I can't ever get just my eyes and have them actually look where they are supposed to. Camera is over here, but something is more interesting over there!!!

    That is...jarring.
    That is to say, uncanny.

Bad, unsuccessful pun. (Cans != jars, one is metal, the other glass.)

Thanks for replying, that is *VERY* captivating.

I guess it depends on lighting and how wide you open your eyes

    [/the obvious all-rational, boring explanation]

lol I guess so. I swear I'm not crazy. My spouse has noticed it too.

yw @j_w , those are good puns. ha. I would have hated it if you'd kept them bottled up.

there's probably a very scientific explanation to this which involves a lot of anatomy and such but I refuse to roll with that.
instead I shall be convinced that there is something more metaphysical going on, like the nature of your feelings and core of your thought process being radiated to the world through your eyes without you noting it - which I think would be a great thing.

And now that difference that would be exactly that: different feelings/thoughts results in different eyes (expression).
