Writing long posts and then not posting

I'm not sure if it's only me who does this, but do other INFPs ever write out REALLY long posts-- like, save-in-a-Word-document-long-- and then just not post?

DD: Bothers me sometimes. And yes, I had to fight the urge to not post before posting this.

I've done that a few times, but more often I'll post my massive wall-of-text, unless I get second thoughts and think it might cause a conflict.

Ahh, I see, then. I guess I'm usually afraid that I won't get a reply or will otherwise kill the thread (which I've done on numerous occasions....).

I suppose this question would work on speaking, too, although I find that harder to measure and less frustrating-- but I always think of things to say in real life and I never end up saying them for various reasons

Thanks for the reply, though! :)

I wouldn't say I get to the point where it was so long I started saving it in a Word document and then not posting, but yes I have done this more than a few times and some of them have been quite long

Sometimes I think: would anyone really care about my wall of text rant? do I need to expose myself this much?

Me too. I seriously would be posting more if I could stop the urge to delete it. I swear even a sentence is hard for me to post at times.

Definitely. I typically proofread my posts and often when they're that long i come to the conclusion that nobody's going to read my giant wall of text... but not after having edited it for an hour or two

Kaaagh, all the above posts said exactly what I was thinking, so I guess I'm not alone. It's like there's always a reason to not post: too long, nobody will care, I don't even care, it's not good enough, the thread's already dead, I still have to edit, etc.

The reason I save some of my posts on my computer is because they were too long and too elaborately written for me to willingly delete.

But I thank everyone who posted so far

I see some kind of logical phallacy in everything. It's just that sometimes I'm so intoxicating by what I'm writing I forget myself and post my post.

Usually the intoxication wears off when I start reading what I've written, and thus I don't actually ever post.

I seem to like to tell myself I still get something out of it, just by writing it and not posting it, I mean.

Suffice it to say, in other words, I don't post that much.
Lala, susurration, iKicker and 3 others thanked this post.

Heh, when I read the title of the thread, I was shouting at myself, surprised on how similar the issue I have with most people here. I like Leksandar' explanation. That's probably the logical fallacy for some cases. But sometimes it's because I don't think that my thoughts are that interesting so I need to share it with other people.

..ah, so that's the reason why this desktop is messy, full of notepads and MS Word documents, which contains lot of unsent posts. Tsk, tsk..
