    The INFP Springsteen Appreciation Thread

If you read this thread -- https://personalitycafe.com/infp-foru...r-stories.html -- it might seem as if a few INFPs, appreciate Bruce Springsteen.

I know I do and have seen him in concert many times. I got turned onto him in the 70s and I listen to the SiriusXM channel devoted entirely to his music (E Street Radio) right up to the present.

More than once, in a newspaper article, I have heard him described as an "Idealist" with his songwriting.

Why do you like him? Any favorite lyrics or songs?

    My favs:

He always puts on a great show, and though I can't say he's one of my favorites he's always in my playlist. I've always admired the way he writes and sings from the heart, I doubt he even knows how to phone it in.

This man is the closest to a hero that I have. His songs are amazing, his lyrics are straight from the heart and his live performances are epic. This man pours out his whole heart and soul everyime he takes the stage. His music has supported me, comforted me, made me cry and made me feel good about myself.

Bruce truly is one of the alltime greats, a living legend and I hope that the generations of the future will keep on listening to his music. He deserves it.

Picking my favorite Springsteen songs is almost like asking me to pick a favorite friend. There are so many great songs in his repertoire. Having said that: there are three songs that are a little bit more special to me than the rest.

A very close fourth would be Jungleland from the Born to Run album. Best album overall in my opinion is Darkness on the Edge of Town. An album I personally enjoy very much, but is not a real fan favorite, is The Seeger Sessions. Oh. And I have a soft spot for Devils & Dust. Born to Run obviously is a very energetic and enjoyable album. His debut album, Greetings, is underrated in my opinion. As far as debuts go it's excellent. Oh dear......I am gonna talk about each and every album if I am not careful. I'll stop now >.>

For me nothing he has done since has ever surpassed The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle. Not because of him necessarily but his band in those early days was simply out of this world. They were funky, jazzy, loose, and fun. They had a sensitivity and dynamic range that is extremely rare in the world of rock and roll. They played off the beat unlike later iterations where it was more of a straight ahead rock beat. I just love that album. I love all the rest, but that second album makes me very happy.

If you want to be a rock star, look no further than The Boss. That's how you do it.

I soooooo agree. I had forgotten how old he was and yesterday I looked up his age -- 65. He doesn't even seem to be slowing down. He must love what he does and when he gets on stage.

He really does seem to give his all. I loved your story about him from the other thread!

@yippy What a great personal idol to have. I hope we have many more years of listening to him. Has anyone given any thought to his type?
