What 'Person' Do You Think In??

Do you ever catch yourself in the middle of a train of thought and realise you're referring to yourself in second or third person? Like: 'ah, you really think that's a good movie, don't you?' or 'you're crazy!'

Now I've come to realise that most of the time, I actually think in second person. But, there's always another little voice in there that's in first person, and it just quietly responds to the second person voice. But then, I've caught myself thinking in third person more than a few times. So, I don't know. I'm wondering if you guys are the same or not. I'm guessing everyone's different, and everyone probably thinks in all perspectives at different times, but... which one do you think in most???

I usually think in first person. The only exception is when I think of a previous state of mind, I use the third person to refer to my old self because I sometimes feel no longer attached to the person I was before a significant life change.

I usually think in first person but I must confess a side of myself to this thread that might lead people to believe that I'm utterly insane (that's assuming that they don't believe that now but they will soon). When I'm by myself I debate with myself. I'll say something out loud and in my head I'll refute it or answer a question. Then I'll keep the conversation going between my talking self and the me inside my head. This honestly is how I come up with my best ideas and how I work through things.

    So am I insane?

Would love to think in the third person, but if I started talking like that...

I'm confused. I don't think in any person, I don't even think in words unless I start narrating my life to myself which is an imposed level of self-consciousness. Most thoughts are just experiencing you interpreting reality, putting them into words requires effort.

I think in third person just as much as I think in first. The chatter gets kinda annoying at times. Self criticism is a lot more harsh when delivered in third person too. Sometimes I think in second person, but that's usually when I'm stroking my ego :P That's usually followed by an admonishment in third person :/

I swear I'm not insane, but sometimes I feel insane. I hate it when I hear other people's voices; it happens when I imagine the social reprecussions of what I'm doing or might do. Or if I'm interacting in real time and I read too much into people's body language. I know it's counterproductive and just makes social interaction that much harder, but I still find my self slipping into it from time to time. I'm jealous of people who don't think verbally :/

Of course when I'm figuring things out or thinking on possibilities, the chatter stops. I can foresee events, the steps required, I can "zoom" into a machine and do prototypical mock ups in my head... It just gets verbal when I'm thinking about myself.

I have balanced way of thinking in First and Third person and I talk the exact same way as well.

First Person, sometimes Second person as well.
I occasionally even think in the 'we' pronoun, but it's when I am thinking about the planet as a whole. humanity or politics.

Yes, OP, yes! Everything you said! And sometimes it worries me. But as long as I don't do it out loud I think I'm fine lol

    Exactly!

Which person do I think in most often?
Well in a ranking it would be:
    1. Second person + a responding voice
    2. First person
    3. Third person

I've been thinking in such ways since I was little!
    I don't think it's too weird.
