    INFPs and religion?

    Please do not use this thread to argue about religion!

    This thread's main purpose is to sate my curiosity, basically. On some websites, I've read that INFPs are often religious or would enjoy religious careers. However, I've also read some things that say that INFPs aren't that religious, mainly this article: www . 16personalities. com/articles/religion-and-personality-type (sorry I can't post links yet)

    As a non-religious person myself, I wondered how true this really is. Of course, this thread only really focuses on INFPs, and doesn't really compare our type to other types, but I'm just curious how many other INFPs are actually religious, or not. I'd like to have a conversation about this as long as there's no fighting or close-mindedness.

    I'm not religious at all, but I'm very interested in spirituality at times. It gives me the best results in feeling good about myself and the universe.
    To me many religions seem spiritual anyway, but in a very metaphoric context.

    I'm a Catholic, but I'm still far more spiritual than "religious".

    I'm not religious myself but I have nothing against religion. If following a religion makes someone happy (as long as they are not hurting anyone) then all the power to them.

    I'm religious but not in the way that most people think of religion, I've created my own religion from bits and pieces of various religions and philosophies that resonate with me, mixed with my own interpretations. My religion has no name and i would never want anyone else to follow it, in fact i would encourage others to make up they're own religion, you can get creative with it, If you want your god to be a giant fire breathing chinchilla names Shwongkey then by all means go for it, or if you don't want a god in your religion at all thats cool too. As long as your religion doesn't justify hurting others i'm all good with it.

    I am not a religious person. I don't have anything against people that follow a religion either. Everyone has their own thing to comfort them. My belief is love. Everyone should love one another, love everything, love enemies. Just love.

    Basically, I am an atheist and a humanist.

    You don't need religion to be a nice person, and not every religious person is a traditionalist (for a lack of a better word) asshole. But some people are incapable of change - be it thinking all religious people are assholes or religious people who are actually assholes - best just to leave those people alone.

    Truthfully, I do find a sort of peace of believing that there is a higher power out there. But I haven't found any sort of religion to follow nor have I really been looking for one. So I don't really know what you would call it. I guess that I'm just spiritual.

    Agnostic, so I wasn't entirely sure how to vote. I went with Spiritual. I was raised CHristian, but have cast off organized religion. I do still follow Jewdeo-Christian Morality though for the most part.

    @TeddyPower23 that's pretty much where I am.

    Thanks everyone for the great responses so far! I wasn't quite sure what to expect at first, but I'm a little surprised that most people are either not religious or consider themselves more spiritual than religious. In thinking about it, I think part of the reason why I've seen websites say that INFPs would enjoy religious work is based on the implication that religion and morality go hand in hand.
