I once went on a trip to the Québec province in Canada with this INTJ, and he summed up a few things he would change in the city of Québec.
One of these things was the "unclear" device on traffic lights at pedestrian crossings.
I said: "What do you mean? There's a hand on it with the device drawn above the hand. It's obvious you're supposed to touch it on the bottom with your hand. And then it detects it and you can cross when white, just like in other Canadian cities." (it's white there and green in europe for pedestrians)

And he said it wasn't clear to him and I had weird intuition.

I'm thinking: is this because that Ni only works with Se to interpret new physical information (combined as technical intuition)?
Is it because his Se was already exhausted by my presence?

well, if he didn't get that particular look on his face and frog-march you through a relentless list of all the reasons why what is so 'obvious' to you is nothing like that to him, then i suspect this. that kind of thing's very common for me, but i've never put it under any specific label. i guess ni works because it's probably the most perennial aspect of my whole life.

i lived in qc at one time. don't recall any trouble with that particular thing. but a) it could have been pre-devices, and b) i was mostly caught up in outrage at the weather out there, anyway. the only thing i recall about traffic was the 'no right turn on green' thing they had. useful when stepping off sidewalks while buried in -50 windchill misery.

Ha, I read 'life socks' instead of 'lilysocks'.

Yup, there were parts where he didn't want to explain anymore, because a) when travelling, I use Se even more, because I want to discover and experience, which drained him. And b) this drove him to rely on intuition for comfort, which I couldn't read as well. Like: I can't know what he implies if it's not obvious. It doesn't help that I have a mild form of ASD and take things more literally.

Why would you live in Qc if you know the weather can be pretty harsh?

Also by pre-device, you mean: a device that remembers you activated it and lets you cross once traffic stops?
(otherwise traffic would still stop but you won't get to cross, or it makes traffic stop quicker to let you pass).

Regarding Se to Ni, it is basically that Ni is making subconscious connections from Se input. I will say, I love love love traveling but anyone who has traveled with me knows I need breaks because it is like Se/sensory overload. I nap more frequently. I need to insulate myself in the room. I get spacey. I think my brain needs to catch up with the backlog caused from too many new things. My thinking process is like a spiderweb structure and it needs time (and quiet/no distractions) to spin the connections.

While I am trying to deal with 1. the new environment (especially if it is culturally very different) 2. being around a companion constantly (even if it's someone I'm familiar with like my sister - I think some energy gets diverted to keeping tabs on being around another person), I can be a dummy about some things.

But then again, somethings I'm just a dummy about so
