I remember being flirty with everyone and when dating was a fun thing to do (even if it led nowhere, I still enjoyed the company, the ambiance, the conversation, the sometimes tacky hook-ups) and now due to online-dating-gone-wrong horror stories I have lived through, I'm practically shaking at the thought of approaching a guy, and these days I developed a VERY strong defense mechanism of "feigning disinterest." I just did that to a super hot guy last night. Whyyyy whyyyy whyyy...!!!

There is nothing more sad than a broken ENFP methinks. We turn into vapid, lost drifters lolling about in our bed for hours... That was me this morning, yay!
Here's an uncomfortable, virtual ENTJ hug. I guess that'll have to do.
Poor hot guy. His hotness scared you off.
lolling about in bed... LOL-ing in bed... ROBL (roll on bed laughing)

I notice a lot of ENxP similarities here.

Also, nothing I say should be taken too seriously as I tend to self-deprecate.
Mhmm, I swing wildly from ludicrously ambitious and optimstic to depression and volatility. The polarity between the two is a roller-coaster ride though; the highs are definitely worth it.

I self-deprecate all the time although it often involves taking the piss out of my own arrogance. Sometimes I invite negative feedback when I'm feeling insecure.

Ugh, I just remembered how flirty ENFPs can be (myself included)
It just happens by accident, funny shit springs to mind and it seems a shame to waste it.

    Preach sister, preach!

Seems to be dominant Ne getting screwed over by inferior Si. Great potential and possibilities being undermined by a poor understanding of our past experiences. I was reading a post the other day about developing the inferior function and how it can help one to move forward. Might be of interest.

Oh, that's curious. I should definitely look into that! I feel like I spend so much time ruminating on my past and feelings and STILL not coming to any concrete conclusion/solution (other than shit hurts, I feel fucked up, ra ra ra). Does this have to be such a head-twister?

I have a friend who is an ENTP. One time I read her journal and I was eerily astounded by our similarities (not just of writing, but of THOUGHT, since that's the most important part). She bounced around a lot and explored possibilities, and though it seemed chaotic (and at least mildly poetic) is was like an "A-HA! I'M NOT CRAZY!" moment.

I see a lot of similarities between ENTPs and ENFPs although I believe I'm more outwardly sensitive and gushy.

I really think my mother is an ENTP, or INTP. She fits it so perfectly. She was so cold growing up, but so very into possibilities and other hippie crap (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree).

    ENTP

ENTPs are nice, inventive, perfect people, hindered by the serious handicap of nonexistence. If someone told you you were an ENTP, they probably knew you were an ENTJ, and they were trying to be nice. The ENTP animal is a unicorn.

For some reason, @Vellyon, you guys were the only ones with a semi-nice description. I really like: "...hindered by the serious handicap of nonexistence." It just seems so spot on.

Pssh, @Dalton, you can give me a better e-hug than that. Just think white fluffy bunnies...

Or is that just too weird? Too weird...

Making people happy is my life goal. After all, part of my "job" is to be an entertainer. I go-go dance at parties and shows, I'm a hostess for private events sometimes. I'll bartend for various private venues, too. My intellectual side needs stimulation though. I get really bored with the average small talk. I go right into quantum physics, philosophy and general theoretical type stuff. I'm a psychonaut, I can't help it. I also like to reach into people's emotional veins. If I'm not getting the "real stuff," I get bored, dejected, and leave. I don't do "casual" affairs or friendships. I mean, I get involved with people casually sometimes, but if things don't mosey on along, I vanish much like a gypsy (I'm accused of this constantly hah).

Juggling my two opposing ends can really stress me out, and so now I'm completely shutting down. However, it's nice to sit back and chat in a forum. At least I can be myself (so I hope... don't judge me, people, I'm sensitive!) :(

I just need a place to vent... which is why I journal! It's just not enough to keep all these chaotic, wild and whimsical thoughts to myself.
Wow, you just reminded me of my favorite “pick up line” that I use when I am feeling particularly playful: “Let’s skip the small talk and go straight to discussing quantum physics.” This usually results in a happy chuckle or a blank and very confused stare.

I require far more intellectual stimulation than most people; small talk will simply put me to sleep. When someone asks me if I would like to go to a night club (blaring loud music with no possibility of discussion); I will with a completely straight face tell them I would love to go, but I have to neuter my plant that night.

Fortunately due to my job as a financial adviser I have gotten better at this and have become better at small talk (which mostly comprises of me listening to them talk and making affirmative noises). Live and learn I say.

They exist, alright. Seriously, the entire article is hilarious, though. Some favorites:
(ESTP) are usually dumb as rocks. Which is good, because the ESTPs with brains are really fucking scary...
Imagine an ant, a tiny little worthless animal who does exactly what its superiors say. That is an ISTJ, that is.... ISTJs do not have “ambition”. They are empty inside.

@Blacktide: Uh-huh... You know INTJs and ENFPs aren't that freakin' different. I'm actually really nervous/anxious in social situations, but I cover it up with being "cutesy." You wouldn't tell by the way I dance "as if no one is watching" without my top on. I go to a lot of art-based/costume-themed parties. Basically the NYC Burning Man scene. I can do ALL that, but once I have to engage strangers with whatever ridiculous boring small-talk-in-a-can disposable questions they pop out of their asses, and I really want to get the hell out of there. "So what'd you study?" "What is your occupation?"

I'm gonna have to start thinking of clever answers to those questions.

Usually I just want to say I'm a Muse or that I actually, factually, don't really exist, and that I'm merely a manifestation of their imagination created partly by my own projection and largely their own deeply-embedded belief system. Of course they'll just assume I'm crazy. I'll just go back to dancing in my headdresses of flowers and feathers with intricate body jewelry and unique dresses. La la la... *does a little twirl*
    Blacktide thanked this post.

Actually, BACK TRACK, burners would be the EXACT kind of crowd to understand such an absurdly candid response. I guess that's why I party with THOSE people and not the plain Janes and Joes hanging out at McSqiggley's Irish pub. (No offense to them).
