I does not necessarily have anything to do with type, as much as chemistry between indivudals and how much self-irony each individual are capable of sustaining. If you are able to handle being made fun of well, and think it is funny, in addition to being able to play along on such terms, then you are capable of having that relationship with another person. I have that "playful banter" relationship with an ESFP, an ENTJ, an ISFJ, an ENTP, an INTP and an ISTJ. We sort of developed that relationship from the get go.
That being said: A relationship of that nature might be common with INTJ/INFP pairings, given the fact that the sum of those pairs mostly makes up of people with the required traits. I do not have sufficient data to support that theory.
To be honest, the INTJ tries to include banter in all their conversations. It's one of the only things about talking we don't find abhorrent, besides getting to hear ourselves speak.
I'm coming to terms my flatmate is an INTJ (there's 4 of us here. His gf ESFP, my roomie ISFJ and me (INFP))
We're always on the banter/humor side with a bit of black humor. He's rarely angry, but rarely talks, haha
I know he never means anything bad, therefore there's no butthurt feelings between us.
We drink alcohol together, sometimes cook together or just go grocery shopping, watch a movie and have a casual talk.
Simple as it is
I'm a 6w5 so that probably has to do something with me being somewhat desensitized towards insulting/black humor, heh
