    mild dev, reading the build-request lists: {personname}. who's {personname}?
    me: he's the tester for {team}
    mdev: ...?
me: you know. the guy who looks like a retired rcmp officer from some smallish interior town . . .
    mdev: O_O
    me: . . . like, oh - penticton, say.
    mdev: *fizz splutter through nose*
    me: what?
mdev: oh, nothing. that's . . . .surprisingly *fzzsplutter* perceptive of you *guffaw*
me: oh. urr. well, i see a lot of people that way.
    mdev: really?
me: oh, not like all of them look like the rcmp . . . but you know.
    mdev: ...
me: it's just kind of how my mind works. i've got them for lots of people.
    mdev: do me do me!
    me: {thinks: gund puppy} uh . . . no.

i couldn't resist sharing this one with the product guy and the gund-puppy dev.

    gpd: you just never learn.
    product guy: *strange gleam*
me: looks like product guy doesn't learn either.
    gpd: ooh tell.
product guy: so i come into a meeting with cdl and his team just this week.
    us: uh huh.
pg: and for some reason the room's really dark. cdl, you know . . . sitting there.
    us: uh huh.
    pg: back to the light.
    me: i see this coming.
pg: right. and i just had to go say . . .
    us: tell it, brother!
pg: 'gee, cdl. seeing you sitting there. brooding. it's like you suck all the light from the room.'
    gpd: you meanie.
pg: *makes the face of the cavernous dev lead, processing that.*
me: i honestly think that we worry him.
pg: i KNOW that we worry him.
    us:
pg: and then i flipped the light switch. luckily there were others in the room who did laugh. so he kind of went heh heh along with them. but i could see him still processing.
me: oh god, we shouldn't, you know. it's just mean.
pg: i can't help it. i honestly think that we're good for him.
    me: well, yeah . . . but.
pg: and then later {dev lead of other team} told me cdl came to him
    us: uh huh?
    me: brow all furrowed.
pg: *does dloot doing cavernous dev lead for him* . . . and asked him 'did product guy mean something when . . . ?'
    gpd: poor cdl.
pg: i think dloot reassured him, somehow. but still.
me: you're just lucky you weren't asked to go into A Room and Explain it to him.
gpd, who has been in A Room and Explained stuff the cdl when life's worrying him: *sweat-wiping motion*
    pg: ohmigod.

    i love this team.

one more. product guy has got hold of a new phrase

pg to gabby dev lead: so, if you think you've got a handle on it . . . but on the other hand, if you think we need a come-to-jesus meeting . . .
me: what's all this jesus talk lately? you're starting to worry me.
    gdl (preacher's kid): HAH.
gund-puppy dev: maybe there's something he's not telling us.
pg: oh, okay fine. if you think we need a come-to-ME meeting then . . .
    gpd: called it.

    INTJ - The Scientists

A few years ago -riding from the airport to family get together (2 hours):

ENFP (male), INFP (male), INTJ (female)

    ENFP: talk-talk-talk-talk-talk

minimum response from other two. INFP engages in small-talk...

INTJ: picks up book- begins reading.

ENFP: begins to sing the Dudley Doright theme song.

    INFP: joins in

    ENFP: astonished - increases volume

INTJ: puts down book until complete. *shoots INFP the "don't encourage him look."*

INFP: *whispers to INTJ* "We're male-bonding."

ENFP: starts to sing "carpet cleaning" jingle....

    INFP: *joins in*

INTJ: picks up book... mutters to INFP "This is going to be a LONG trip."

I can't for the life of me work out why skype conversations (make that all conversations) with my sister end up weird.

Sis: I'm going to turn the laptop around so you can see your cat.
*laptop turns around to show my cat pulling a ballerina pose and licking his foot*
Me: Cats are so flexible. I wish I could do that.
Sis: I bet I can do it. *proceeds to try to put her leg over her shoulders*
Me: You know you've got hypermobility, right? You'll pop your joints out.
    Sis: *continues to try*
Me: Look, just put the leg down.
    Sis: Never!

Haha, she is. She's about the funniest person I know and we always end up laughing over something when we talk. I hope it's not too personal, but why can't you talk to your sister?

Nice to see you too :)

nope, it's not personal. it's just that she's half a circadian cycle away, she's insanely busy and overloaded with people a lot of the year (lecturer), and she has a bastard of a systemic disorder to deal with as well.

we just don't intersect anywhere near as much as i wish we did. plus, she gets surly like any card-carrying introvert does when just-that-one-more-person shows up while she's already on max-overload. i guess what i miss is her having the time and the mental bandwidth, more than i miss her actually being present, because at least in the letter of it she is there.

husband: Can we go on a day trip now?
    Me: Hm.
husband: So, we forgot to plan it last night. Where are we going?
    Me: Into Darkness.
