What the percentage means for each letters?

Hi, I just joined this forum and I have a question and I think here would be the best place to get the answer.
I took multiple test and I scored all of them as an INTP. I know what the overall INTP personality is, but what is the percentage for each letter? I got : I - 30%, N - 35%, T - 50%, P - 23%. Does it means I am an introvert thinker but it takes only 30% of my personality? On another test, I remember getting 44% for the I. However this test seemed more complete and accurate.

The MBTI cognitive functions are set up in pairs as a continuum, like a sliding scale: I/E, N/S, T/F, P/J. The percentages reflect where your preference for each function lies on that dichotomous continuum. That being said, I'm not sure how it could have typed you as an INTP... if your preference for Introversion is only 30%, your preference for Extroversion should be 60%... based on your percentages, it should be ESTJ or ESFJ, since your F/J are both 50%. Unless this is some kind of scoring I haven't seen before, in which case... *shrug*

I've wondered this too. Which test in particular are you referring to here?

That can't be the case with the HumanMetrics test, for example.

It could give you results like: I 75%, N 63% --> which makes sense if you think of 50/50 as the dividing line between I/E & N/S. But then it could also give you: T 12%, P 15% and say you have a "slight preference" for ... (vs. a "distinct" or "moderate" preference).

I'm not sure what the percentages there indicate.

    You broke the system.

No preference would be 0%, therefore 30% introversion means you favor introversion over extroversion only by 30%. The higher the percentile the stronger the preference for that function over another. None of your percentages of at the high end but you still test INTP.
