    I know the feel.

I try my best to just let things flow and not think too hard about HOLYSHITWHYDIDHESMILEATME. (Not that that works.)

I have read some of your posts, I don't really read everything but I remember you talk about girls sometimes. I also have tried to buy stuff and when I buy it I just set is aside. I thought that perhaps you are looking for meaningful personal relationships. That's all.

I don't buy much but I do feel that irrational urge sometimes. It's almost as if, on some level, there's a feeling of accomplishment.

I do think there's a genetic predisposition to buying stuff. Imagine that it's 100,000 BP and you come across an antler lying on the ground. You could think "Hm. Don't need that right now." Or you could feel pumped because you're going home with something. The second response will do you more good in the long run. Not necessarily so adaptive in 2013 though.

I was for an extensive period of time last night trying to find two prime numbers, x and y, where y=2x. It was only today that I realized they don't exist. I forgot about the two being another factor.

    I swear I'm smart.

It releases dopamines. It's why people get addicted to shopping when they go shopping to cheer them up.

When I was in drug group therapy, they talked about that when one junkie started buying crazy amounts of things and stole his parents' credit cards to buy 300 dollar sunglasses...

Maybe the reason spending lots of money gives one that rush is due to the fact that humans need to acquire resources, and when you buy luxury things it seems like you have a lot of resources.

I noticed this rush when I bought a PS Vita shortly after it came out.

    Worst. Decision. Ever.

Typical INTP. Focused on what's complex and unaware of the obvious.
