My own jokes are hilarious, even if no one else seems to think so, or even recognize the humor, than again that just makes my jokes even funnier... for me at least.

What makes me most laugh is being surprised by a legitimate connection that is made. Predictable jokes aren't funny; you need to catch me off-guard.

I also can laugh at totally unrelated things that I suddenly see as metaphors for each other in some way, or when unspoken expectations are violated... I imagine how different people are perceiving different things and totally not connecting up... a lot of it is not what is said but what is insinuated.

I only laugh when things are both so surprising and/or so clever that my brain explodes a little. My avatar being a prime example.

Sometimes when my Ne really gets going, I'll turn into a lunatic and laugh at nearly everything. It's almost like I've lost all my inhibitions temporarily and I just let all my energy out, but that doesn't happen very often.
Your avatar is supreme. But funnily enough, i just smirked, and held my breath for a nano second. That must be my silent laugh, so pathetic.

I'll second that! Steven Wright is awesome. If you like him, you'd like quotes by Jack Handey.
"The crows seemed to be calling his name, thought Caw" (mentally giggles) Just epic stuff.

I HATE predictable jokes and the people who tell them.
Some Random Person: *makes predictable joke*
    Me: *no laugh*
SRP: What's the matter? Don't you have a sense of humor?
Me: It was funny I guess.
Me in my head: Yes, I do have a sense of humor, but you just happen to be an unfunny moron.

Whenever people I'm around talk about their favorite comedians, they always mention Larry the Cable Guy, Bill Engvall, and/or Jeff Foxworthy. Always. Larry the Cable Guy is never not mentioned. I then mention that my favorites are Eddie Izzard, Demetri Martin, and Bill Cosby. They always say Bill Cosby's funny, but never heard of the other 2. I don't even bother elaborating.

I can find amusement in most anything. Perhaps an overabundance of Ne helps me see ways in which pretty much any situation can be hilarious, and maybe it's just my inferior Fe but stuff that is considered taboo or incredibly politically incorrect is more often than not especially funny. Laughing at inappropriate times is a big quirk of mine, and something that gets awkward every now and then.

Inside jokes and those with a nerdish flair that only people with certain knowledge bases will get also tickle my fancy.

    Mitch Hedberg.

"I used to do drugs. I still do. But I used to, too."

"One time, a guy handed me a picture of himself, and said, this is a picture of me when I was younger. So I said to him, all pictures of you are pictures of you when you were younger."

I don't know why but he makes me chuckle.

Nothing tickles my funny bone like a good dose of irony, anachronisms, and sarcasm. Puns and good old juvenile humor also get me smiling. And I do smile or chuckle at some of my own jokes, because I'm usually talking to myself and sometimes I can be pretty funny when I'm in my head.

I wouldn't be able to pinpoint exactly what makes me laugh, as when I do it's usually because of something random, like a funny/ridiculous/I-can't-believe-we're-talking-about-this conversation.
