Hello personality cafe members!
I'm really glad to be here and discover more about human nature as I further navigate this website. Aside from personality psychology I enjoy listening to music, reading, going on the Internet, and learning new things. I was born and live in the United States and find the culture here really intriguing and interesting (Twitter is like a portal into the minds of humans...amazing!). I'm endlessly curious as to why people act the way they do, and the Enneagram of Personality has proven itself to be an incredible map for dissecting human nature -- I consider it to be on of my most treasured and fascinating hobbies. I'm excited to meet and interact with people on this website, as we are all here for a shared purpose. Because it can be difficult to connect with people like this face-to-face, sites like this make me grateful for the Internet and how far it has come to shape our culture and society -- for better and for worse.
As one can tell by the title, I have been questioning whether I am an Enneagram type 4 or 5 ever since I first came across it a few years ago. In my younger teenage years I was convinced I was a 4 due to attempting to figure myself out, however, now that I am a bit older and growing out of the teenage phase, I am noticing changes to my personality mechanisms. Aside from type, I am fairly confident that my instinctual stacking is sp/sx, however my interest in the workings of society sometimes makes me question if my social instinct is not third in my stacking, but possibly second. oceanmoonshine9.wordpress.com's version of the sp/sx description very much resonates with me, though: "These people often have an earthy, mysterious quality to them. They are quietly intense, but to others may seem oblivious to the greater social world around them, instead favoring personal interests...the sanctuary of home is of paramount concern, and this type takes particular delight in decorating their spaces to reflect their cherished sense of taste and depth. Motivation: to live in a secure, comfortable environment where they can pursue their private interests in depth."
I look forward to getting to know you all and more of myself along the way!
