...Should've done this awhile ago! With Multiple Tests from Multiple Sites over time

This may read a little like a Al-anon confessional, which may be accurate because I've been introverted addicted for awhile now... and I just read the introduction email!

I'll go by my screen name for now, but am a husband and father to a currently 4 year old daughter. I spend my free time currently renovating our house, playing video games, and going on excursions with the aforementioned family every now and then.

The very first introduction to Personality anything was "The Only Astrology You'll Ever Need" sitting in the living room sandwiched among other book that had been read and collecting third-hand smoke for who knows how long. I didn't really dive too much into that. Later in Senior year of High School I took Psychology both semesters and taking a 60 questions A or B MBTI self-scored test as part of the curriculum. I ended up getting INTP.

During a period of Self-exploration post High School I dove into the framework of Astrology. Writing in online journals at the time it was a good time to learn and explore others patterns of behaviors and try to make logic out of all of that. Understanding that all the signs have 3 attributes to them and it's the combination of those that make everything work. I didn't bother to go further and try to understand outer-solar system interactions. I'm a 1st Decan, Gemini-Gemini with Libra rising and a Pisces moon.

More recently, after taking several different tests and in some cases many times and keeping track of what type resulted it wasn't until a friend of mine had taken a test and posted it on Facebook. He received a response that mentioned Tertiary and Inferior functions like they knew what that meant. For as many tests as I have done, why didn't I know that? Since then I have done internet research, read "Personality Hacker", and started watching YouTube videos to get myself educated and work on understanding the functions within myself and then try and take that and apply it to others I know. The ultimate goal is to understand what I can do to help any of my interpersonal relationships without having to ask too many questions opting to rely on what may very will be my Ne-Si functions.

To add further, I am trying to end what I perceive to by my Ti-Si loop and start providing some value to humanity. It's impossible to take in any new information without being willing to explore the abstract or gather the facts.

Here's the list of my recoverable tests and the results showing just how variable this stuff can be, and I'd say it's more the readers interpretation of the questions, influences of the recent past (recency bias), and the mis-communicated intentions of the question writer(s).

    Hi, welcome Korpz!

Indeed, tests can be all over the place. INTP seems quite reasonable given your post and your results. It's fun to look at the patterns... clearly IxTx dominates these results, and your post reads much more INxx than ISxx. Interesting that you got two P-A and then one A-T. I'd tend to interpret that as P-A overall since P and T traits, and J and A traits, seem most likely to confound.

To add further, I am trying to end what I perceive to by my Ti-Si loop and start providing some value to humanity.
My INTP dad gets caught in these. I loop too, but FiSi, of course. The easiest solution IMO to the introverted loops is to go dive into something in your environment, something where you can't sit around and philosophize, and you have to actively engage for a while - it'll force your extraverted functions. Assuming you're indeed INTP, might help to find an S buddy if you can because they'll keep anchoring you back to the present. Have you considered something short-term and structured like Habitat for Humanity or putting in a few hours at a food bank? Might be an easy two birds with one stone.

Incidentally, have you looked at Enneagram? Wonder if you have a dose of e5 somewhere in there.

    Thanks for your reply!

I think that's what I'm trying to do, in conjunction with "this might actually be pretty good, let's try it!" My wife is the S balance it seems being ESTJ. Since she Te's so well, there's not much point to me speaking up. I usually speak to add color to the story she's telling, or validating accuracy.

I have been meaning to do the enneagram thing, very curious to see what that test is like and the result.

I've noticed with 16Personalities the T or A is predicated on how strongly you fall to one side of the question or the other. I also think it has the logic programmed to weigh stronger "S" responses" and slight "N" responses to fall into being "S" even if you had a slight "N" response to more questions. Online Personalities test is the same format, BUT if you answer in the same way you'll end up with "N" seeing as how more answers fell to the "N" side of the functions.

It's nice to have some validation from someone else that INTP may be the right type.
